Standard cash game. Folds to small blind who raises, we look down at 34556 in the bb. What's our play?

i just call and draw 2 to 345 ip or oop. sb should mostly have d2+ and with all of the folds pre, that devalues your blockers i think.
if you both d2, villain will pretty much always tell you if he's drawing 1 or 2 on flop, which is good for your snowing/playing decisions post.
i think using the 1-pat snow is best for trips, unplayable 2pairs, and stuff like 5678p.
or in simpler terms, if i have a playable draw of any sort, i try to avoid snowing pre.

I’d call and draw but to 345 as well, but if collect more pairs can turn into snow later

Call and d2 seems super standard, keeping the pot smaller increases our positional advantage

Call and D2. Use your info to play better and potentially snow later.

If villain can fold the turn I raise, D1, pat almost every flop and barrel. If villain doesn't like to give credit and shows down a lot I flat and D2 because you're smooth enough to play non-premium hands like Nines and Tens for value. Hands like 45567 are more useful blocking for snow than card rank value for drawing.

Here's another one: 7543K folds to the btn 5 handed, final 4 tables of a tournament where everyone has at least 10 big bets. Open fold button because it's rough?

I’ll add an opinion I haven’t seen yet. 3 bet and take two at least some of the time. Surely you guys don’t flat all your draw 2s here?

3457 button is the easiest open in any situation in the world

In the 3457 hand, what if we're vs a CO or HJ raise (with no particular reads)?

No certainty don’t flat all D2s but due to removal it seems like our opponent will have a strong draw relatively often with the premium cards that we are trying to represent that we have.

I'll 3! some d2's (esp w a pair) against all but the best opponents. Against crushers I hedge towards playing smaller pots when it's close. But I don't mind opening up my 3b range against like Boris Becker's kid and other recs.

I don't like the first idea w this particular hand, unless we plan to snow a lot and I'm not sure that's a good idea either. Snowing in position BvB gets less credit than most other spots. Though the 3! does rep the stronger d2's and makes up for some of that dynamic.

I benefit from the posts that advocate unorthodox lines cuz one of my main weaknesses is auto pilot and not thinking outside of the box enough

i think his point is we get a lot of credit when we 3bet, d2 and snow later on, because d2 3bets are smooth and smooth hands don't snow.

Yes, it didn't seem like he was suggesting it was a value raise but on the other hand he didn't say anything about the why

That's a pretty advanced thought to project your opponent to have. No read was given on opponent nor the stakes. He might be susceptible to snows but more than likely not thinking that deeply. The blind battle more than likely weighs higher on your opponent's mind if we are playing the odds.

If this guy limps his D3s then given the complete lack of action in hand and the fact that would hold none of the key cards further weights his range to be fairly strong.

Never 3b and draw 1?

That was offered as a possibility but only really drawing to an 8 or 9 for a real hand.

I would slightly prefer the 3bet D2 line to that one.
