Playing $1/2 HU FL 2-7TD on SwC, 2nd hand so no reads.

Predraw: he raises btn, I defend bb with A9883 (too loose?)
1st draw: I d3, he d2
Flop: I check with 98732, he bets, I raise, he calls
2nd draw: I pat, he pats
Turn: what is our line from here?

I kept reading this over and over and its kind of weird for him to pat behind after only calling the check raise and not raising back. We have to be beat though dont we? I mean, he is never patting a 10 behind after being check raised is he and our 9 isnt amazing obviously. I think I check and see what he does. I just dont feel were ahead here, can we really be? If he checks behind, I MIGHT try to get to showdown with a check/check or check/call but I am not loving it because I still feel like were losing to a better 9 at worst. If we check and he bets, I am calling and obviously breaking and tossing the 9.

This is a bizarre hand. I think I want to check/call, pat, check/call. If he checks behind turn I bet/call river.

Breaking seems awful to me, we've only got 10ish outs getting 5:1 if it goes check/call on the turn, so our 87 needs to win basically everytime it makes, since losing another bet or two on the river having broken drawing dead seems so bad to me here. Breaking also makes it so our opponent can play perfect on the draw and the river -- our hand is basically face-up if we break.
