Something is wrong in this write up. UTG opens, CO cold calls, and 3 over calls put 5 players in the pot. Then you never mention UTG again.

As written, I guess, CO turn 3 bet is spew if he's not pat.

But that pretty much gives you the answer. If he 3 bet in position, then you'd have to take into account a few things before deciding whether or not to break. Not in this example. He drew 1 OOP and you have an 87. The only hand I think the SB could possibly have that already has us beat is exactly a weak 86 - he's 95% to be drawing again.

Sry guys, got something mixed up. UTG is BB in this hand.

Predraw UTG raise, HJ fold, CO call, Hero(BTN) call 7329J, SB call, BB fold, UTG call

Will try to post with hand converter next time

I am pretty much never breaking here. Pat, call and lose a bunch.

Why should he expect to either call or lose? The CO 3 bettor has just drawn. Nobody has bet. If anyone bets river, it would be us.

I think in his HH a third player (SB calls two cold) sees the third draw and takes one then the 3-bettor pats in front of us...
would need reads on the 3-bettor IMO against an aggro opponent or read less online I would pat (only play micros) but against a weak-tight live player I probably break and D1, Is V someone who will 3-bet any pat hand here or does he only 3-bet 8 perfect or better here (some live players). If you pat how wide would V value bet the river?

Ok I see now, was confused by HH.

Lots of good dead cards, you've gone 2-pat, and the SB is getting jammed in the middle, which gives the CO plenty of incentive to 3 bet turn. You have a pretty smooth 87, so if you are beat, only a 4 or 6 will allow you to improve (and raise the river as well). I'd guesstimate you have 3-4 clean outs if you break. I think your hand is too strong to break and would just pat behind and call one bet.

Pretty standard to stay pat and try to show down cheaply because you beat some other 8s that might take this line

I probably would pat and feel bad about it. Glad others agree it's a good line. I'm surprised no one has suggested breaking. It's not like we have 87632 or 87543.
