here's a spot that seems to come up often: you're the SB with 2478x, folds to the cutoff who raises and the button calls. Is this an automatic 3-bet and then draw one? sometimes I choose to call and draw two which seems weak. What about same spot but the opener is UTG? Or what if your hand is 4578x?
Calling w 247xx isn't weak and it's not a problem if BB comes along (and he prob won't, considering 3 deuces are likely dead) when we are drawing to the nuts.
The wider CO and BTN ranges are, the more likely I am to 3!/D1.
Assume this is TD. I would either 3b and draw 1 or flat and draw 2, both are viable and it helps to do a little of each vs attentive opponents.
HU I 3b D1 because we are so likely to be ahead of Cutoff's opening range, but vs two opponents equities are closer and more volatile, and the deck can be poor for our precise hand without us knowing it, so you own yourself a lot by bloating the pot OOP. I tend to draw two to the nuts rather than drawing one to a rough hand OOP multiway.
Say BB folds after you cold call andyou draw 2 with 247 and catch 8x.
How are you playing 8742x after D1 assuming CO and button both draw 2?
Strongly. We've caught an important blocker and were a card ahead to start. If we pair on second draw we will have a very good snow, and if we make a hand it will be difficult for villains to make a better one.
trivial 3b/d1 in most games i've played in lifetime as button can have some truly awful hands. also a lot of people like to 3bet drawing smooth 2 otb there
