Game is a 10-20 THORSE where stud hi has been dropped in favor of badugi, a game which most of the table (including me) has barely played. Several rounds of badugi already in, from HJ guy especially new to game who's playing pretty conservatively limps, tight player also new to game raises on CO, compent more experienced player flats on BTN, we've been dealt a QJ64 badugi in SB. BB is a pretty loose player who will most likely call the current bet but not an additional bet w/o a decent holding.

I expect that, if I raise, no one but BB will fold.

What do we do here? Is this just a snap fold b/c we can't expect to stay ahead of the field, we're at a big positional disadvantage, and our badugi is weak and can't draw easily to a great badugi if we need to break?

What's the worst badugi we play in this spot and what's our raising range?

Snap fold, would be a fold even against just the HJ and CO. But against 3 players even if one guy is limping and drawing two this is a big money loser.

I need at least a nine here. But even that is borderline. You are re-raising any badugi that you play. Otherwise it's somewhat face up as one that is weaker and then you lack clarity facing action.

When someone draws a badugi their median is an eight or nine, so you do not want to go against many drawing hands. I have a lot of articles on the game now on my personal website that were originally posted in 2+2 Magazine
