Two new articles:

Vince Russo Says USA Network May Force WWE To Get More Edgy Content

Quote:
"I've heard there's been some rumbling from USA Network saying 'You know what? We may have to start getting more edgy.' USA Network doesn't want to be politically correct. That's not their call. That's coming from WWE," Russo said.
-and-

WWE LOOKING TO FIND OUT WHY A GOOD CHUNK OF THEIR AUDIENCE HAS STOPPED WATCHING RAW

As for this week's ratings, no official number yet, but rumblings are that it is even worse than last week. And this week it was up against a terrible MNF matchup, so there isn't much of an excuse if that is the case.

Are they just feigning interest in what fans what or do they genuinely not know?

I'm not sure which of these options would be more pathetic.

Probably a little bit of both. I think they're stuck in a mindset of "this is what we do, it's worked before it'll work again"

USA will take what WWE is giving them because it's so far ahead of any other show on USA and RAW propels USA to be the top cable network every week.

Look at the questions they asked. I think they really don't know what the problem is.

NFL game was two teams not in playoff contention lacking in star power. More than half of WWE fans identify as NFL fans so it makes a big difference.

The game lost 4 million viewers from the previous week, which is more than Raw's total viewership. Though fantasy sports probably are a big reason why Monday Night Football, which used to be less watched than Monday night wrestling in the late 90s, now does multiple times the viewership of Monday night wrestling.

They lost a lot more viewers than usual from hours 1 to 3; .75m. Though it did start higher. I wonder if nobody thought Reigns would really end up with the title after all the times he didn't, or if they just didn't care.

That show had something of an "anything can happen" feel, and in the long run that should help ratings or at least slow down the decline.
