But its more of an effort than the countless other "superstars" that find themselves struggling to get any airtime seem to do. Rather than just complaining about their situation and expecting something to happen, he went out and tried to connect with fans. And it worked. I can respect the hell out of that, even if he's only a mediocre worker.

LOL @ racist Hornswoggle.
I didn't say it wasn't a good idea for Ryder as it clearly worked, but it falls in line with the HHH model of getting over that he preached about during HHH and friends which makes it kind of "meh" imo. And by that logic what Cole does to get himself over is also awesome and cool but how many of you think Cole is good?
12-18-2011 , 09:36 PM
the giant PONCE sign in Orton's titantron is awesome.
12-18-2011 , 09:36 PM
Yeah that Teddy/Swoggle skit actually made me lol.

ryder's rise is really impressive especially considering the wwe kept trying to squash it, refusing to allow anyone to go over unless it was the management's plan to put them over...got to a point where he was so over that the wwe couldn't ignore him anymore

trouble is once you reach that point, the wwe doesn't really seem to realize that jamming it down your throat is very much not a good idea. ryder winning the title should be an impressive milestone for a guy who was perpetual superstars jobber til he decided to take matters into his own hands, but the wwe deciding he should be in every ****ing segment in every ****ing show kinda killed it for me

LKJ sort of admitted during his Saba Simba pick in the Worst Draft that WWE was racist so can we just all agree they (Vince?) are brutally racist and don't care to hide it now?

And IRM hit it on the head with ZR being in every segment. Creative just has no idea what they are doing at all.

Barrett added extra fish supper grease in his hair i see, lol.

Followed by Cena running out to clean it up, only there's a massive beatdown on him?

That's incredibly great booking.

of course but that's not Ryder's fault. What is he gonna do, go "damn, you guys are using me too much, I'm not exactly SCSA up in here"

Its like when your kid sneaks into the liquor cabinet and takes a nip of peppermint schnapps. The only way to make them stop is to force them to chug the whole bottle until they pass out and have to get their stomach pumped. Also brilliant booking.

No idea why, but adding these 3 words at the end of a sentence is always amusing. I lol'ed at this.

LOL @ racist Hornswoggle.
keep in mind z-ry couldnt even really call himself a midcarder when he started his self-push... i mean he was jobbing on superstars

of course it's not his fault, and it's not cena's fault that the wwe forces supercena to take over everything, pander to 5 year olds and spew nothing but poop jokes, but here we are
12-18-2011 , 09:41 PM
I never said that Vince's business practices aren't racist, only that it seemed more like passive racism where he's perfectly cool with using stereotypes if it's the quickest way to a buck rather than active racism where he actually hates all minorities or whatever.

But I can't be bothered to run around trying to get offended by all of these things anyway.

Occasionally IRM hits the nail on the head. Not commonly, but occasionally. This is one of those times.

cole is awesome. just listen to smackdown for proof.

its just incredibly hard to work when you are forced to sit next to probably the worst commentator of all time and pushed to do a bunch of ******ed things other than commentate.

Seriously? He was sentenced to a life of jobbing on superstars, and he did whatever he could to get out of that. By doing nothing he is future endeavored 99 times out of 100. You go ahead and write, film, edit, and direct a 5-10 minute show by yourself for 44 weeks in a row and you tell me how easy it is.

He's not a great wrestler, but he clearly loves wrestling and he deserves this time in the spotlight. I'm sure if he doesn't change his schitck we can all hate on him in a few months (seems to be going that way), but Ryder deserves credit for what he's done.

If he were thinking long-term, yes actually. This is like vince russo saying that david arquette was awesome and perfect because it gave them some press in USA today... ignoring the fact that it killed them at the same time.
