Nah I think they just wanted to quickly get it off the air before the crowd realised Braun wasn’t cashing in and got super mad.

But why would they make Braun look soft like that after months of building him up? A single finisher and some chair shots to a guy who flips over vehicles? All credibility in that character is gone now and if anything makes Brock look like an even bigger beast.

They will sacrifice all, they will move heaven and earth, to make this Reigns thing work. (Everything but actually pulling the trigger on a heel turn.)

I really don't think Braun is THAT damaged by this. I do agree that it's out of character for him to stay down in that moment, and the failure to follow through on a promise to cash in is much more befitting a more cowardly character, but I think you're downplaying that beatdown a bit much. He took quite a bit of punishment.

To get Roman Reigns' title win a slight pop through a combination of Brock's awful reign ending and anticipation of Braun's cash-in.

I agree with you by the way. The whole thing was a joke starting with him claiming he wasn't gonna be a coward like everyone else and cash in on a beaten down opponent after a match then saying he was going to... stand at ringside and cash in after the match.

Maybe it is just to sell Roman as the toughest dog, as RR has taken worse from Brock and kept getting up. Exactly, the entire Braun angle for that match was just off.
