One thing is clear by now: the Royal Rumble is made of Teflon. In the past decade, the collection of Rumble matches has been comprised of a few mild successes and several catastrophic failures. And yet, the underlying match concept is inarguably genius, has provided us with some of our favorite memories over the years, and it's very difficult not to get excited to watch this match no matter how many times it has let us down. The elevation of women in the WWE has also taken us to a place where we get two Rumble matches per event instead of just the one, and I'm definitely here for it.

Tonight's card features not only those Rumble matches, but some strong championship matches: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles; Asuka (c) vs. Becky Lynch; and Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Sasha Banks. (There's some other stuff too.)

The fun starts at 7 p.m. ET. Or, if you're bed-ridden with a debilitating illness and exclusively subscribed to the WWE Network and have no other TV options, you could watch the pre-show starting at 5 p.m.

I went to the St Johns-Georgetown game today, been drinking since 10am.

I think i'm gonna love this PPV regardless of how much it blows.

This might be the most stacked card top to bottom in WWE history. I'm pretty excited for every main show match except the Shane/Miz stuff that I'm neutral on.

Who I want to win the rumble: Rusev or Big E

Who I want to win the rumble (plausible): Andrade or Drew McIntyre

Who I want to win the women's rumble: Either Charlotte or Becky. Something that logically gets us to the Charlotte/Ronda/Becky triple threat main event at WM.

Don't really see many of the titles changing hands tonight.

what's a reasonable SD women's title match if they go through with the triple threat at Mania?

There's so few credible contenders for the title, especially on SD behind becky/Charlotte, i'm not sure how they'd even go about a second title match.

The women's stuff is definitely most intriguing. I have kind of resigned myself to Charlotte winning the Rumble because they seem dead-set on a Mania triple threat for some reason, but holding out hope that they get to just Becky/Ronda one on one somehow.

I'd like to see Asuka beat Becky earlier in the show, then Becky gets into the Rumble later and knocks out Charlotte at the end. Either way, I'll be astonished if those aren't the last two people in the Rumble unless Becky wins the title earlier in the show.

Anyone heard anything about the roof being open tonight? It's closed now, but only takes 2-3 minutes to open.

For years, I kept waiting on the shocking return of Kurt Angle during a Royal Rumble. Would have potentially been an all-time favorite moment for me.

Given that Angle not only ended up returning, but also wrestling, I hate that we didn't specifically get an unannounced Rumble return as his return to the company.

So stoked!

Looks awesome. Hope the Phoenix crowd brings it.
