"Elizabett...Elizabett" is awesome.

What the hell are they gonna do with that anyway? Weddings on WWE TV don't tend to go much better than contract signings do, though I guess Macho/Liz came off fine until Jake Roberts and the Undertaker so rudely interrupted the reception.

The Rock says yabba, the people say... DABBA!

(I haven't watched RAW yet, I just opened the thread to get the general impression of the episode and saw this post.)

The yabba dabba thing was worse, but it was for one night. I'm doling out extra demerits for a sing-along catchphrase that keeps happening 500 times.

There was a dark match after the cameras turned off btw, Cena beat Big Show and Tensai, then Big Johnny came out with a chair and tried to attack Cena. Cena then AA'd him. I really wanted to leave to beat the traffic, but being in the middle of the row prevented me from doing so.

Overall, I thought it was a decent Raw. I had never attended a live wrestling event, so it was cool to go see a live show. I got accosted while doing the Yes! chant by some idiots behind me, and some of the conversations I heard by fans sitting around me were hilariously stupid, but it was a good experience.

well at least there was no mention at all of charlie sheen on this raw, so i guess he's out as social media ambassador since he deleted his twitter account a few days ago

he probably jumped ship to this new exciting 'tout' i keep hearing about

Isn't the WWE Board of Directors supposed to make a decision regarding the Raw GM position on the 1000th episode as well? I'm fine with an underwhelming Big Johnny return followed by him screwing Cena out of the title

This would be my dream result of that.

Spoiler:
Unlikely, but I mean he is on the payroll so I'm not exactly pipe dreaming about it being Cornette or something.

I'd be much happier with Cornette writing/booking than just participating as an on screen talent.

I'd take him doing any of the above, but I think the bridges between Cornette and WWE are as burnt as they come. That's how he puts it anyway.

Never would have figured we'd see a reunion between Vince and Bret in a million years either, so you never know, but the difference there is obviously that Vince knew he could get a positive ROI on getting Bret back if Bret was willing, whereas Vince just fundamentally thinks that Cornette's good booking ideas are wrong. So...even if Cornette softened, or more likely ran into financial issues that forced him to come crawling, I'm not sure if the money would be there for him with WWE.

I just want one Rey/Sin Cara Wrestlemania match. Hopefully the two can go without roiding up for a few months so we can see that dream match. The 45 seconds they wrestled each other at a house show was so sick:

you guys that want cornette as booker/writer/whatever obviously don't follow the trainwreck that is roh and their very bad booking.

Meh if Punk wins it should be clean to elevate him further in superstar status. Makes no sense to let Cena lose a title match without really profiting. And apart from that Johnny has little kayfabe reason to interfer in that match because he and Punk hate each other, so even though Cena put him out of the company Cena or Punk is pretty much a wash for him.

You're right; I don't follow ROH. His reasoning just seems really sound on his Cornette Commentaries so I guess I'm surprised it doesn't translate into good booking.

No denying his talent as an on-screen personality though.

Man, that was awesome. The noise of the crowd was great, especially when they really booed loudly when Miz threw Cara out.

I really think Ziggler is going to lose when he cashes in his MITB.

I think Cornette could accomplish more with quality talent.

He is a bit old school, but he's had some successes as well.

The first that comes to mind is its my understanding that Cornette came up with the Taker/Yoko finish, because Taker obviously didn't want to **** up his gimmick with a traditional injury angle, so we ended up with certainly one of the coolest moments that had ever been done on PPV to that point:

i think ziggler will cash in at some point between now and SS, win the title, then drop it to jericho, then use jericho to either put someone new over or just have him drop it to bryan since it appears that the bryan/punk feud is dead and has left bryan without any real direction.

it's really quite amazing. punk has the 6th or 7th longest wwe title reign ever, and only once did he headline a ppv (tlc. cena wasn't on the card)

if you have that little faith in a guy to be a headliner that you never let him headline, he shouldn't hold the belt, much less for 8 months

I know punk was ESSENTIALLY a face when he won at MiTB but getting the heel reaction from commentators, Im gonna count as heel. How common is it for someone to turn one way or the other while holding one of the main championships?

If you're counting this as a mid-run turn, are you also counting Austin winning at WM XVII as one? At what point does the turn take full effect?

Daniel Bryan is obviously a recent example with the WHC.

I dont remember the full story from austin times tbh so idk. DB is a good example. Any others? 3 isnt that bad if all 3 of those count, although DB kinda turned heel to win the title no?

Any 100% legit turns while being the champ?

randy savage turned heel while holding the title in 1989

you could possibly count The Rock when he won the Deadly Game tournament and then turned heel

The Austin one was that he entered as a face vs. Rocky, Vince helped him win, the crowd erupted for his win, but then he embraced Vince etc. Just tough to say whether the heel turn happened during the win or immediately after the win.

DB was less heelish. All he did was cash in on a face. He didn't do anything dirty. He became a douchebag in the weeks that followed.

Savage was a 100% turn while being the champ. Won the title as a big babyface at WM IV, was full heel by WM V.

Tough to gauge whether HBK was a babyface or not for the screwjob win. He was obviously being cheered against in Montreal, but I don't think he had gone full heel yet. He was heel by the end of his reign.
