I thought this at first too but I just can't imagine the rumble winner not facing a champ at Mania.

There were a number of ways of getting to Rock/Roman and this was certainly one.

At least the Bailey turn was well done.

Roman did a great promo to set up his match with Seth too.

Cody could still face Roman at SS or maybe be the first to win 3 Rumbles in a row.

Cody's realistic answer should have been, sure you can have him Rock...on night 2 of Mania. I get him on night 1.

Now he gets a chance to fulfill his childhood dream and win a title that was created less than a year ago, while Roman surpasses Hogan's reign.

The pop for the Rock was outrageous though. A large portion of the internet community (the same that was probably booing Cody in AEW) may be irate, but I'm not sure I can blame them.

I can’t possibly imagine cody winning the rumble and not facing a champion, that’s just mindnumbing stupidity

Otoh, kayfabe (lol me) wise, what’s the story here? Rock cashed in rock in the bank 2 months in advance while he Cody faces rollins?

Cody is facing Rollins for sure. He may be giving up a shot at Roman to the Rock, but he's not dumb enough to give up a title shot he busted his ass for.

I somehow seeing Judgement Day screwing Cody out of the title and Priest cashing in at Mania.

Ok maybe it's the other way around.
Cody costs Roman the title.
Rock goes back to Hollywood with the title and never comes back.
The end.

Apparently, the WM press conference was explosive.

Cody said he was facing Reigns, Rock attacked him and is now a heel and part of the Bloodline, I guess? Just reading bits and pieces.

It was a good watch with a little fast forwarding.. Seth was involved too. Wonder if they pivot to Rock/Seth. The Bloodline wants all the titles.

Watched live and having Seth out there just because Cody was eventually coming out to make his decision made him look like such an afterthought. Why even have that goof with a "world title". Rock/Reigns/Cody stuff was really good.

My thought was maybe we see a 4-way match. But more likely is Cody/Seth vs Roman/Rock at EC. What I think will actually happen is Cody vs Roman at Mania and Rock costs Roman title either on purpose or not and Roman/Rock face off next year's WM.

Man imagine finding out 10 years ago that people are booing the rock in favor of stardust for anything much less the WM main event

Liked everything about the press conference except Roman burying the universal title. Curious if they actually go the route of a tag match at EC, even more curious if they actually go rock/seth at WM. If they do rock winning, Cody winning and a unification match at summerslam or something would be pretty cool

Or maybe they **** it yolo and just do a fatal fourway at WM for the unified titles and let Bailey main event night 1. F4 probably makes more sense cuz there’s just no ****ing way the rock can go a full main event 1 on 1 these days

Unifying titles at or around WM 40 when they literally unified at WM 38 and then created a brand new title after WM 39 would be horrific, even for them, and that's as someone who greatly would prefer one main title.

I'd bet decent money on Rock/Roman vs. Cody/Seth on night one and Roman/Cody on night two with events building to a Rock/Roman match at SummerSlam, a Saudi show, or Mania 41.

Not really sure where they're going with this, except that Cody really has to beat Roman this time, and I'm pretty okay with that.

They'll probably eventually get to a Rock/Roman fight and it's probably worth it for them to do, but I'm still not sure why Seth was out there and involved in this thing if he's going to end up facing Drew at Mania.

Been thinking about this far more than I should be because of course

Can’t make sense or the rock’s involvement in all this if the final plan is roman v cody. Maybe they tried something and pulled the rip cord on it cuz of the backlash? I just can’t see the rock not being in this match in one capacity or another. Triple threat with Cody makes sense, handicap against cody makes sense. The only thing that doesn’t make sense is this actually being a 1:1 match

Maybe Rock ends up being the special guest referee?
Would he stay neutral?
If not, who would he favor?

Has anybody ever had the arc that Cody Rhodes has?

2 years ago: booed out of AEW

1 year ago: worried he may be booed out of Mania because of Sami

This year: Turning on the Rock to cheer Cody

And he hasn't changed his character or presentation one bit in that time.

Elimination Chamber thread

I'm a night owl and still not about to make it an hour before this starts.

But whatever good time to have it in Australia just to have Rhea get her pop in her home country.

All 4 matches are pretty much mortal locks. Drew, Becky, Rhea, Judgment Day. Have fun Aussie. Would be a massive shock if that didn't happen, especially since it is Aussie time.

Too much outside interference to end the men's match, but this was more about setting up Mania than anything else.

Guess we're getting Styles/Knight and Orton/Paul, along with Drew/Seth & Rhea/Becky as expected.

So Raquel Rodriguez looked a bit different because she was dealing with an MCAS flare up, which is what's kept her out for months.

This is Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and the best way I can describe it is like having allergies all over your body magnified 100x. I have it as part of a larger health issue and it's extremely difficult to control.

I've gained a lot of respect for her being able to go out there and perform during a flare and having to endure a long flight to a foreign country. Hope the best for her and like a lot of chronic stuff, there's a spectrum. Let's hope she's on the lesser end of it and this doesn't ruin her career.
