Think they've officially killed expectations on Raw after Mania.

I just can't imagine the thinking on that ending. Probably won't watch another second of weekly TV for months. They can't have thought that would be anything but wildly unpopular.

I can't even say that was a bad show. It wasn't great, but I wasn't ever truly bored with it.

That ending though...

The draft has really ruined the Raw after Mania last few years. They can't start anything new.

Lol if true that explains why Reigns didnt make an appearance. Thats awesome

This is a reasonable standard for a random mid-May Raw. As a post-WM Raw, that has to be considered a bad show, especially with the disgraceful ending.

What was the ending?

They teased a world title unification match between Rollins and Kofi throughout the show. Then they had that going as the purported main event. Then Sheamus and Cesaro staged a random run-in to cause a no-contest, at which point Rollins challenged them to a holonaminutplaya tag match and Raw just ended with Kofi and Rollins winning and holding the ring.

Basically a Raw ending they've already done ~65 times.

I admit I tuned in seeing a Rollins/Kofi match teased. I expected dickery...but even that was wtf

I was at Mania and Raw...what the **** was that lol? Had a good time but what the actual **** was that.

The beach balls to **** on it and the AEW chant were hilarious though. How hard did they nerf the AEW chants on tv? They were loudest chant all weekend in person.

I imagine that finish will keep all the lapsed fans who tuned in to stick around!

Thoughts:

-Opening segment was fine. In kayfabe I don't see why Kofi would want to risk his title a day after achieving his dream 11 years in the making, but it's cool to see two champs who the crowd are firmly behind.

-Revival vs the two jobbers aka the champs. Don't really get what's happening here. There are much better tag teams that are way better than these two.

-Corbin/Angle segment was wowowow bad. First of all, what's the point of having Angle lose the match at WM if he's just gonna come out and dispose of Corbin the next night, only for another guy to come out and establish himself as the heel attacking Angle. If establishing Lars was the long term plan, why not have Angle go over Corbin and then have Lars attack Angle celebrating his win tonight? Or better yet, at WM last night?

-Another meh Becky promo. She's approaching bizarro-Roman territory where fans will cheer anything she says or does. Redirkulous' post about how the fans ignored Ronda's/Charlotte's good in-ring work then exploded at every Becky forearm rings true again. Also, her calling Ronda a "little weirdo" doesn't work at all. Ronda is taller and would absolutely dismantle Becky if they actually fought. Do better.

-Lacey is awesome, I'm glad they had her jump Becky and even more glad they had her hold her own. Someone said it earlier itt but Lacey definitely feels perfectly antithetical to Becky, I think they'll be able to do some good work.

-Lashley/Ambrose- the fans gave Lashley the Corbin treatment. And then talk about Ambrose goin out flat on his back. And Renee was "gone for the rest of the night after what happened to her husband" and then was back 30 min later? I guess if they're gonna keep building Lashley as a heel this served some purpose but idk.

-Finn/Sami- decent match, glad Finn won, and then I thought the Sami promo was excellent. I think in a vacuum he works better as the underdog babyface, but his promo was so good I think its a shtick that can work. Funny that WWE's new bit is to have their heels making valid points.

-Bayley/Alexa- uhh what? Bayley losing clean is interesting, and having Alexa do 0 work on the mic is befuddling. Seemed like pointless filler to me.

-Elias/Taker- I enjoyed this. Elias is always great on the mic, and he sold his fear of Undertaker very well. Say what you will about the Undertaker but it's cool to see a crowd pop like they did.

-Rollins/Seth- wowowow what the hell is WWE thinking here? The crowd was genuinely amped for the main event and they promoted the hell out of it throughout the show only to pull the rug out from under everyone? Look I don't think either Kofi or Seth should lose their belt, I expected a no contest or interference of some sort, but you have to do better than a random tagteam with no (kayfabe) reason for interfering. The crowd's disinterest in the resulting tag match was deserved.

There were a lot of missing names, wonder if that means some will show up on Smackdown? This was bad, and does not bode well for the near future of the company.

There's the after Raw video. Not sure I'd qualify that as booing (although there are certainly boos when Seth first says his name) but ya, fans certainly aren't taking it easy on Roman.

Sami heel frustrates me. He's great so he'll do well but they had something uniquely interesting line up.

When Sami left he was getting booed for telling the fans that Bryan and Shane were not as they appeared. That they were selfish, egotistical, hypocrites only looking out for themselves despite the lip service of trying to make the best show for fans.

Well, in current storylines every single one of those things was true.

Shane turned on the Miz despite Miz trying his best and finally being a genuinely good person that was learning to appreciate different things in life now that he's having a kid, beat him up in front of Miz's father, and then beat up Miz's father.

Daniel came back to wrestle, cheated to win the title, and then had the audacity to give the B+ player promo to Kofi despite knowing how that feels from years ago.

It was a ready made situation for Sami to come back, do a promo about sticking up for what you believe in no matter how much people hate you for it, and feud with Daniel with the roles reversed.

Such a unique situation due to injury and turns while he was on the shelf and it was just thrown away for a whole "you people" heel promo.
