Zero posts?

Zilch. I haven't even looked at results. Zero interest in WWE atm. Watching the first 30 minutes of last nights RAW made me realize how bad it is.

Step 1: people come out.
Step 2: Steph or Kurt makes a match.
Step 3: A meaningless match occurs.

I realize it's been like that for a while but everything feels even lazier than before.

I stuck to watching week-to-week for ~6 months after a few years off and I'm done for a while. Back to ppvs. Those matches (sometimes) have repercussions and as I've mentioned before, watching more of Roman has made me realize that he is really bad. Watching him only on ppv makes me hate him less because I don't have to see the story line every week and don't have to hear his awful promos. Also, Steph doesn't usually talk on a ppv and this is a huge

I haven't really watched since attitude era but I'll check in for royal rumble and WM and be entertained but I've noticed that no one seems to be enthusiastic about the product right now, yet the ratings are still around 3m a week at a time when television ratings are down across the board for pretty much everything else.

How are they maintaining these ratings? Especially when people can just go on youtube and check results after, scroll through the lame segments and recap stuff and just get to the good stuff and watch raw/SD in about 30 mins.

Just something I thought of when I saw fox basically ditched the ufc and used the $ to get SD on fridays.

WWE has a niche crowd that will watch it no matter what, I think.

Kind of like how certain cult bands have a die hard fan base that's large enough to support them, but zero casual fans (like the insane clown posse, or extreme metal bands or whatever).

I believe the fans are also of an undesirable demographic from what I can gather, which is why so many of their sponsors are Mountain Dew type companies and never the more adult type brands.

Caveat: I might be completely off base. I dunno.

I'm not really feeling the ICP analogy.

Sure there are definitely those that will never stop watching, but there is the potential for PLENTY more casual fans.

Yeah, there are core loyalists who are immovable even if, say, Vince McMahon stood in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shot someone, but they're really only one piece of the puzzle. While this board is not a great indicator of larger subsets of the wrestling-watching population in a number of regards, I do think that the general stance of many here - that we are dissatisfied with the current product but desperately wish it would become great again, and if anything we cling to any reasonable excuse to tune in, but are also fully willing to tune out in the absence of that - has to exist across a large swath of the wrestling public.

Oddly enough, I gave up on liking wrestling around 97' and replaced it with ICP and Mountain Dew

Pretty much. Since this is a poker forum there's also the Super High Roller Bowl going on as well. I forgot RAW was even on until 845.

Good call.

I saw Doug Polk busted out and lost interest in that. Plus I don't have pokergo.

Pretty sure that counts as no posts during a RAW. It sounds like not much happened. I think Jinder beat Seth and I know it was a title match but idk if it was by dq or countout so no idea if Jinder's IC champ. Apparently, there was so much going on last night outside of WWE that Roman didn't even make an appearance. A woman's gauntlet main evented that Sasha won (? citation needed).

Who has time for Roman when there's a tag team food fight scheduled?

Think the Seth/Jinder/Elias stuff might have been okay and the women's match wasn't terrible.

Confusing booking with Nia. Think Coach was commenting on how nice a person she is...this months after she was this killer heal beast and then she proceeds to come out and play heel to Rhonda, just after they booked her as a champion of people who have been bullied.

But yeah, nothing particularly as memorable.

Except that Lashley said that his sister's might have been the only people on the planet that found Sami's skit amusing last week.

Filling part of one of the three hours they’re obligated to fill.

Really though, I flipped over during a hockey break and can’t figure what the point of the worked injury was either. Giving Nia to Ronda as her first singles opponent seems pretty terrible though.

To illustrate how seamlessly they can combine terrible writing with terrible acting.

Most likely hyperbole, but I can't recall a time being this bored by WWE TV. Just awful.

How can people sit through 3 hours of this stuff every week?

No, this week was especially poorly written and acted along with meaningless matches. What the hell are they doing with Corbin? What was that whole weird **** with Reigns and Jinder yelling at each other through TV monitors? And then that stupid thing where Rhonda got mad at Nia for just standing in the ring. The B-Team has really been the only entertaining storyline.

I hear smackdowns been good lately, can't confirm though.

Haven't watched a second of Raw or SD since the day after backlash. Feels great.

I'm not sure any Raw preview snippet could make me say "I'm not watching that" more than this one.
