I mean, this would make for a way better show than what it is right now. Jinder is a total black hole imo and the sooner they end their dumb experiment with him as champ the better. I'm going to be rooting for (presumably) Cena like an eight year old kid at SummerSlam.

I'm pretty comfortable with blaming Road Dogg for the state of Smackdown since he just seems like a moron and has been really thin-skinned on Twitter lately.

I have no problem with Cena beating Jinder and becoming champion. Corbin on the other hand is the most boring wrestler in the company. With the exception of him eliminating Braun at the RR, I can't think of one thing he's done that I've found entertaining.

Step 1: Eventually move the title back to Styles (another Cena reign is fine in the interim)
Step 2: Have Corbin cash in on Styles
Step 3: Have Styles overcome him and beat him cleanly
Step 4: Relegate Corbin to JTTS until it comes time to future-endeavor him

If Cena hadn't already overcome the odds against a MITB cash-in once I would be fine with him just being the one to do it here, but I don't much like the thought of him being the one guy with the magical ability to fend off cash-ins.

They can just keep Corbin with the briefcase for a bit. Since they're strictly opposed to booking Mr. MITB like an actual contender (which I hate, but it's less annoying in this case), it's not like he'll be winning much while he's attached to that thing.

I think Corbin is an effective heel in part because he is kind of boring, but I get what you mean. I think he is a much better performer than Jinder though.

To be fair Jinder hasn't been given a chance considering he's been stuck in a never ending blood feud with a walking charisma black hole

If your goal is to get someone over you're not feuding them with orton. The next feud he carries will be the first he ever has

Meh. I thought Orton did pretty good work for his standards and even carried Jinder to some semi-watchable matches. It's not Orton's fault that Jinder cuts the same promo every single time, has an outdated nonsensical character, and is insanely unconvincing on the mic. He wasn't a jobber forever just because of his physique.

I was open-minded about the whole thing too, but they've gone down such a generic path with Jinder and clearly (and justifiably) don't trust him to actually carry his matches or do anything interesting on the mic, so it just ruins the main event picture for me.

Remember when shows used to open like this?

Now we have one show with a champ who is never there and another with a champ who sucks. And there is no end in sight

Sometimes I think wrestling will never be that entertaining again, but then I remember that's how I felt before the Summer of Punk in 2011. It'll get good again, but it just might be awhile.

There's little doubt that if you stick with the product long enough that there will be occasional periods of awesome that make you mark like a little kid again, but I'm very dubious that there will be another full era of wrestling that challenges peak AE or Golden Era.

There are only two possibilities that will make the WWE interesting again:

1. Another wrestling company steps up and provides real competition. The Attitude Era would not have happened unless Vince had gotten as desperate as he did over WCW kicking his ass for a short period of time. If someone competent ever takes over TNA and invests money and good booking, or some other unlikely event like ROH exploding in popularity, or NJPW becoming popular in the US, Vince will have to start listening to the fans and giving them what they want instead of what he wants us to want.

2. Vince dies and HHH and Steph take over. Not 100% sure this will help any, but there's a decent chance they will want to shake things up to put their own spin on things and things will at least be unpredictable for a while.

Few comments/questions about tonights ep.

-Why would they have Roman Joe & Braun fight in a normal TT match on Raw? I can't think of a single reason why that would make sense. No build, no promo, just hey you 3 should fight. And, if you're going to do that, why is it on in the middle of the show rather than the end?
-Bayley/Nia Jax may have been the worst wrestling match I've ever seen. Holy God. At least Bayley isn't "over" anymore.
-Cass destroying Enzo & Big Show for the 3rd straight week in the "main event". Has WWE always been this bland and repetitive?

I didn't watch so I can't answer the last two but this is one is par for the course. The same thing as "we're going to make this a tag team match playa" except Brock isn't around. Make no mistake that if he was around to wrestle (and not just stand there) it would've been Roman/Braun vs Brock/Joe because wow feuding guys teaming should create tension and interest.

I got home and tuned in to see what the main event was. I saw that it was apparently Big Cass vs Big Show. I immediately turned it off.
