This is just a slow build to the eventual Maryse/Renee Young Bra & Panties match at WM

This was posted in the puro thread but I'll post it here so everyone sees it.

Wrestle Kingdom 11 was yesterday and Melzter gave the Okada/Kenny Omega main event the first 6 star rating. Not everyone agrees but before it was finished I posted that it was the best match I've ever seen. If you're a wrestling fan you pretty much need to watch this since it's going to be talked about for a long time now. Great match but Melzter ratings are pretty much ridiculous now that he has negative stars and a 6 star match.

New Japan Rumble 1
Tiger Mask W vs. Tiger the Dark 3
Young Bucks (c) vs. RPG Vice 3.5
Finlay/Ricochet/Kojima (c) vs. Bullet Club, CHAOS, LIJ 3, 1, 3.25 (he rated these in succession)
Cody vs. Juice Robinson 2.75
Kyle O'Reilly (c) vs. Adam Cole 3.5
GOD (c) vs. Ishii/Yano vs. Great Bash Heel 3.5
KUSHIDA (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi 4.5
Katsuyori Shibata (c) vs. Hirooki Goto 4.5
Tetsuya Naito (c) vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi 4.5
Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Kenny Omega 6

"Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada may have put on the greatest match in pro wrestling history" - Dave Meltzer"

Fun notes:
This is Okada's fifth five star match, third in the past year
This is Omega's sixth match over 4.75 in the past year

I don't understand why everyone seems to want miz in the main event. What's wrong with having elite mid carders?

I'm fine with him being anywhere, provided that he continues to be used well. That said, it's nice to see the best work rewarded by the strongest push since I'm sure that's what the wrestler giving us a great show would prefer.

It's not like smackdown is overflowing with top level talent and there's no room for miz or anything like that.

Where do you guys think samoa Joe should be drafted

Smackdown. I would love to see a Joe/Cena feud.

I'd be surprised if either Undertaker or Joe didn't interfere in the AJ/Cena match at RR

I just think at this point it's easy to look at someone and figure out where they belong. Doesn't mean that is where they will wind up, only where they would fit in better.

Joe is a Smackdown guy, where Nakamura is more of a RAW guy.

Agree with the above. I think Joe would be awesome on SD.

How unpopular is this opinion?

Asuka > Nakamura

In WWE it's absolutely true as Nakamura has been crazy underwhelming aside from his debut.

Looking forward to seeing Asuka on the main roster. They should just retire the NXT Women's title when it happens, though; there's no one on the roster even remotely credible enough to take it from her.

I don't think she ever gets there, but would love to be wrong.

coincidentally, i think asuka is the type of female wrestler that could really put women on the map in the US

bayley was a ryan leaf level bust

I think the reason Bayley has been a bust so far is that they changed her character. It's almost like Sasha and her swapped characters. She went from being "Aww schucks" to a slightly watered down Boss

I could rant for awhile about how they've bungled her character so badly on Raw. The way she debuted with Mick anticlimactically introducing her was really bad, and it was also bad to immediately thrust her into the title scene when her character worked so well in NXT because she was having to prove she belonged and it was a longform payoff at the end. (The thinness of Raw's roster might have made that impossible, though.)

Her feud with Charlotte is getting back to what made her work to begin with, and I think she'll succeed because of her charisma and natural connection with fans. But as usual, it's mostly happening in spite of WWE's booking/writing.

Splitting up the women between the two shows was such a bad idea. There wasn't (and obviously still isn't) the roster depth for that.

The 1 hour format helps a bunch with characters like hers where they didn't get overexposed like she has on the main roster. It's a lot less noticeable how much less of a worker she is than Charlotte and Sasha when they're both not wrestling on the same show every week

Roman vs. JeriKO next week in a handicap match for the US title.

Can't wait to see more odds being overcome.

I'm really struggling trying to think of a way this could be booked that wouldn't be terrible, even if I had complete creative control otherwise.

I don't completely hate having Jericho pin Owens by way of a rollup in order to further the Owens vs Jericho Wrestlemania match that they seemed to be heading towards

I was reading that as though JeriKO are teaming up in a 2-on-1 match rather than a triple threat? Jericho pinning Owens wouldn't be in play.
