E&C with Cena vs The Club should be saved for the PPV but we'll probably see it on Smackdown

Oh, I see. July 4th is all about Americans and foreigners hating each other according to Vince.

I really wish they'd stop the stupid camera zoom in/out and quick camera change bull****.

It adds absolutely nothing to the show.

Been saying this since it started in late 2012*. It's not an insignificant reason to why I don't watch anymore.

*Watch the 6-man TLC match between Hell No/Ryback vs. Shield and you'll see they've come leaps and bounds from making people throw up to just making it unwatchable.

Does Just For Men advertise on WWE shows?

There isn't a single wrassler that has their natural color beard.

From what I understand they have a few reasons for zooming in and out and changing cameras so much. One is because it is much easier to see if a move didn't really connect on a big screen HD TV than it was on the smaller, non-HD TV sets people had until recently. In movies that have fight scenes that feature people who aren't good at fake fighting, they zoom in and out and change the cameras often in order to make the scenes look better.

Also, they want to zoom in on the faces of wrestlers when they are selling.

That said, I still don't think it is a good idea to do all the zooming and camera cuts, but they do because Vince and Dunn want WWE to feel like a movie, not a sport.

So besides a food fight and Zack Ryder getting the final pin in an elimination tag match on a 4x world champion, did anything happen last night?

Makes a whole lot of sense. I'm sure that's also the logic of the slow motion replay that immediately cuts to real time at impact. Too easy to see that the moves aren't what they are sold to be.

According to PWTorch.com, this week’s Fourth of July edition of WWE Raw finished with a 1.87 cable rating, which is down 15.4% from last week’s 2.21 final cable rating.

The report notes this week’s show ranks in the bottom 3 lowest ratings in the history of WWE Raw, just above a few episodes in the mid-1990s which also drew ratings in the 1.8 range.

The 4th of July episode is always way down from the previous week because Americans tend to watch or set off fireworks on that Holiday, but overall ratings have just eroded over the past few years.

In comparison the 4th of July Raw from 2011 drew 2.4 which is even more than last weeks show.

Smackdown ratings are also much lower than what USA Network thought they would be. I don't see the brand split rejuvenating the ratings. If anything, it is a risk to the ratings because the few casual fans that are left aren't going to watch 5 hours a week plus two PPVs a month, so they may pick either Raw or Smackdown and completely ignore the other show. Or just give up completely because they can't see all their favorites even if they watch multiple hours every week.

I've long been a proponent of a smaller promotion trying to differentiate its video product by doing the entire show with a shaky cam technique.

Am I wrong for feeling that WWE is making a big mistake not paying Brock whatever it takes to have him on Raw tonight? He's the biggest crossover star they've ever had that's not the Rock. Brock being on Raw tonight two days after his UFC win would be a great way to bring a lot of new eyes to the product.
