Still trying to figure out a reasonable explanation for the end of Raw and I think I came up with one that absolves Brock.

Before they go out, both guys are told there is no physicality allowed, no violence. Then Vince suddenly comes to his sense and tells Roman not to talk either. They figure it's just a staredown, but then Roman improvises and grabs the belt. Brock has this incredulous look on his face like "WTF was that?". He knows he can't hit him, but he can't just stand there and do nothing either, so the stupidity we got ensues, entirely not the fault of Brock.

Another reasonable explanation that absolves Brock: it was all scripted and he did the stupid thing he was asked to do.

But Brock wipes his ass with stupid scripts, walks out, repeats.

Only ending before a main event title fight on RAW should be both guys throwing fists all over the ring/ringside while a million refs keep failing at breaking them up

I don't think that was anything to do with the script. Brock isn't a mark for himself, knows it's all fake BS and will pretty much do anything as long as they pay him.

Just lol. Watched raw on Dailymotion and the video looped after the end of the segment. I got confused because...They were just playing tug of war and wanted to see the inevitable mini fight scene. So I went to re watch it assuming I misclicked. Nope, that really was the end. So I assumed the person recording just cut it off too soon so I came here to find out what the real ending was. Then I realized I have way to much faith in the wwe.

I was listening to an old wrestling report where people were talking about watching ECW with friends when they came over. The friends would all like it but would never watch it on their own because it wasn't the major leagues.

And then it occurred to me that for that reason Vince will always spend big for the famous part timers even if it seems like he is losing some money for doing so. Because it keeps the other wrestling companies from competing with WWE for the viewers like the friends mentioned above. Having the Rock and Lesnar and such show up removes any doubt from most people that WWE is the sole big leagues. TNA and ROH and Lucha can have all the quality shows and wrestlers and announcers they want, and WWE can suck 2/3 episodes like it has for most of the past few years, but such a large percentage of the population will never bother.
