After watching SD! last night, I got to thinking that after her victory over Trish on Sunday and Ember on Monday, Charlotte's going to win the title at the next ppv as the ppv's in Charlotte. More thought got me to a defense against Kairi and Kairi trying to overcome an injured leg to take down the much bigger Charlotte. But then I realized Kairi will never get a title match

Bryan Alvarez: "That may have been Roman Reigns' best match ever". Hard to think of a better one.

Bryan also reporting that Buddy Murphy being in the backstage segment was an accident and that's how his first SD! match since being drafted in April came about. Incredible. Again, people check that match out.

It's definitely the best example of a star-making loss in recent memory. It's not really surprising though tbh as Murphy is a very good version of the best kind of opponent for Reigns. Someone who is quick, hard-hitting and small enough to where Roman can get his power stuff off quickly and actually get to use his super impressive speed and athleticism.

Buddy Murphy the guy has always been a cool story from the point to where he absolutely got buried in NXT, to where he dropped 20 lbs and got in incredible shape and requesting to go to 205 Live, to where he earns a call-up to the main roster, gets forgotten about and, apparently, randomly appeared in a backstage vignette that leads to having a 4.5 Star match with the top guy in the company.

I used to have huge respect for Murphy but apparently he's no longer banging Bliss.

Just the other night I was recounting the situation where Vince de-pushed John Morrison because Melina slept around on Morrison.

Is this why Chris Candido never got his fair shake in WWE?

Um, Kofi Elimination Chamber?

Kofi's been featured on tv forever though and been tag, us, ic champ. Buddy Murphy got drafted to SD! in April and literally never had a match on SD! because he's so irrelevant.

Yeah, WWE had already decided they were in the Kofi business before that match too.

Maybe giving them too much credit, but I had a feeling they were interested in pushing Murphy eventually and finally found a spot. He was in a paradoxical situation where not being featured at all was probably better for him than goofing around on the low/mid card and taking losses.

Kairi/Charlotte would be really fun based on their square-off in the Rumble and it's something they could do that could be analogous to Roman/Buddy in the women's division. I'm still naively optimistic about Kairi. I think her character can take losses well and if she gets enough TV time she'll win over fans regardless of booking.

I think Kairi has the in ring ability to lose a bunch in hard fought matches and then make you really care when she can finally pull off an upset and start a bit of a winning streak. That's exactly how I'd book her. This is also a spot where they're lucky they have two brands because they can do the exact same thing twice and this is the oldest story in the book.

I want to have faith that they'll give her a real shot but it's hard considering Asuka. However, she's only 30 so plenty of time.

Would be nice for Asuka to get redemption against Charlotte for the title finally

.
I agree with this because its 1 thing to have a random guy you dgaf about get emasculated by Bryan and Roman. But I have a hard time believing they'd let a guy they had no plans for have a highly competitive match with the hardest guy to beat on the entire roster.

Like if Lince Dorado was in the background fo you think they'd give him a 15 minute match with Roman that isnt anything other than a hilarious squash?

It might be a bit early to get excited in thinking they found a spot to push Murphy rather than they found a way to push Roman. That and Murphy whilst being "small"* still looks great and showed for what seemed like forever he was amazing in 205 live.

*WWE small in that he's probably not far off 6 foot/ taller than the average male.

If James Ellsworth, Colin Delaney, and Barry Horowitz can all get over for periods of time, I think good writing and passable wrestling could do the same for a Lince Dorado

What was the point of hyping up Lacey for months only to throw her to Becky way too fast and then have her disappear from TV entirely?

This should be a very good match. Bryan makes everyone look awesome.

I don't think Buddy should win the KotR but if he puts on another banger on Tuesday and can follow up in the tournament, it'd be pretty good.

Maybe Seth loses his mind about Braun constantly staring at the title and he's the one who turns.

If WWE wants Sasha to get over as a heel, they should probably stop having her mercifully interrupt really bad Natalya promos.

Becky's promo tonight was fantastic. They did some damage earlier in the year but I think they've course-corrected her character. I'm optimistic that this feud can be a barn-burner.

I really like the Orton + Revival stable.

It was really refreshing to have a show without Corey Graves on commentary tbh.

I've seen tons of complaints about this but damn I love it. It's just something fresh and new. If you're going to put Orton on tv, at least have him do something new and even if it's Legacy Lite, I'm ok with it.

I always thought the Revival would work best as kind of a stable, since they basically pattern themselves off the Anderson/Blanchard model anyway. The only problem is that Orton really accentuates their lack of height.
