Yeah that tournament was obviously bad. But they were still doing things the right way then. Even though monthly PPVs had been instituted by that point, they took that Mabel KOTR win and slowly pushed him toward the SummerSlam main event rather than instantly shooting their load.
Yes it's terrible that they ever chose to push him to begin with, but the pace of their angles/storytelling was still just so, so much better then.

GOOD GOD
That is so gross. Funny that Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Yokozuna took on Mabel, Kama (the Supreme Fighting Machine!!), and Savio Vega in the QF and none advanced.

Roadie beating Bob Holly was clearly a botched finish too. And the main event was an abortion of a tag match with Diesel and Bam Bam taking on...I don't even remember. Cornette guys maybe? Truly dismal PPV.
EDIT: Oh yeah, it was Sid and Tatanka. The Million Dollar Corporation was a thing then.

LOL that looks like one of those NCAA basketball regionals where the bracket blows up and the Sweet 16 in that quadrant is like the 8, 11, 12 and 14 seeds. (well 8, 12, 14 seeds and a bye).

Billy Gunn anf XPac was the finals of the 99' KOTR, fwiw. 95 may have sucked but lets try not using KOTR brackets as a baseline.

WWF 95 was even worse than WWE today. Better booking perhaps but the roster was worse and the wrong guys were being pushed and talent being misused.
But, add up the good from WCW and WWF then wrestling as a whole was still better, with TNA adding almost no value and WCW 1995 having a good mid card and some talented promo guys.

bellas have done well moving up the hotness scale over the last couple years. still can't have a passable match, but it's something at least.
trying to have them be faces while having heel music and doing the 1997 L on the forehead thing all while feuding with the one diva that's actually over - that's not helping anything, either

Heyman promo was amazing.
I also enjoyed the video mix of Daniel Bryan old stuff meshed with the new stuff.

contract signing main event. let's not bring ink and paper into this.
i also like how all of the drama built up for the cena-adr match is "will cena win?? or will he lose just because he came back too soon??"

big e entrance music sucks so bad.
wyatt family just needs to be scrapped. could've been interesting with competently creative writers (and a family of wrestlers that could actually put on a decent match), but that's not going to happen.
