I was actually going to ask, would people object to just not allowing that pick for WM only? It basically just delays the game a month anyways.

My theory was to use that one as a means to con people that were on the fence into going "oh that sounds easy" and going ahead and entering when they otherwise might not. Seeing the high level of interest in just a day makes me think that might not be an issue.

Let me mull it over for a few days and you guys can chime in with opinions on it here or via pm. I'll make the final call well before WMXXX giving people ample time to switch if he gets nixed.

After some deliberation I've decided to ban The Undertaker from the event Wrestlemania XXX.

With the length of time before WM XXX, the amount of time between WM XXX and Extreme Rules, and the fact everyone has (and likely will) select The Undertaker, it means we would have 55 days until the contest truly begins.

I will NOT be banning The Undertaker from any non-WrestleMania event. If the game is ongoing when WrestleMania 31 rolls around, I will ban The Undertaker again UNLESS his opponent is either John Cena or Roman Reigns (as those are the only two people I could remotely envision it not being a lock against). If his opponent is either John Cena or Roman Reigns, the match will be pickable.

Please be sure to resend in your selection before WrestleMania XXX if you've already made your selection. I will be sure to send out a pm the week of the event to anyone that's already made a selection and has not made a new one by then.

fyi i was thinking of taking someone other than Taker at WM30 just because i figured everyone else was that way I would auto win if he got hurt or something and couldn't compete, ez life.

What happens if the result of a match is overturned the next night on raw?

Oh good question. I'm going to go with whatever the official ppv result is on the wikipedia. Looks like NoC last year has "Daniel Bryan defeated Randy Orton (c)[18]" as its official result, so I'm going to rule if it's overturned on Raw it doesn't have an effect. Whatever the final result at end of pay per view is will stand.

I like all decisions made so far! Makes it a bit tougher as well.

So after talking to the powers that be (or a power anyways) it looks like we should be able to have a pretty cool prize for the winner of this. I'm excited!

I'll be listing the card after Raw this week and then messaging people that had sent in Undertaker to resend in. That'll leave plenty of time for everyone to get in while also making it likely that the card is essentially finalized. I mean, surely they won't add a match to the biggest card of the year out of nowhere with no build right? Right? Ok, so when they inevitably add in a random 8 man tag match on the Smackdown before WM we'll add that too and you can feel free to change your pick up until the main show starts.

When the show starts I'll post a chart with everyone's pick in this thread. Then we can all sweat it out together.

I was thinking of playing myself and just making my selection before I receive anyone else's picks with a scrambled code in this thread (similar to how dnky makes his WM pool picks). If there's a logistics reason why that shouldn't work, please let me know.

Yeah, hard deadline will be anything sent at the timestamp of :00 of the PPV open.

Better clarify this situation also now that I think of it:

I have the preshow as not counting. That will include any match that starts on the preshow and ends on the PPV. So if a Tag Match is on the preshow and starts at 7:45, the PPV starts at 8, and the match ending starts the PPV off or something, it won't count. We go by start time of the match.

I was told I would get something for running the Raw pick'em pool for 20 weeks or whatever, but here I am still waiting for something elite like purple or yellow letters.

Er, oops. Should still be ok I'd think (shouldn't have matches added to Wrestlemania on the go home Raw anyways).

I will resend my pick when the card is finalised btw, although fwiw I don't like banning The Undertaker. I see why obv but am just against special arbitrary rules in general, plus it could be good strategy by someone to try and save him for next year (although probably not).

It just makes doing this for Wrestlemania pointless there is no real reason to include WrestleMania if we allow the Undertaker match because everybody will choose it

Yeah I get that. I don't see a problem though, if everyone picked him so be it. There's no rush to start knocking people out.

Anyway I wasn't trying to get it changed. I don't really care either way, just expressing my opinion.

Edit - although fwiw I really don't like the "if he faces certain people it counts, if not it doesn't" rule that seems to be in place for next year. Whatever though.

I realise that it makes perfect sense, I just don't like setting the precedent of adding rules other than "pick a wrestler to win at each ppv" except for only picking a wrestler once. I'm beating a dead horse now though so whatever, this is my final post on the matter.
