I don't think it was either. They used to have specials on the Sunday night before ppvs and I believe that was one of them.

I've got off work the next 2 days. It's ****ing raining outside so I can't go golfing.

Somebody give me a list of like 5 or so WWF/WCW PPVs to review between 95' and 05'.

I need something to do.

Done. Looks like we're looking at SCSA vs Undertaker 1st blood match for the strap. Rock and HHH in a strap match, and Road Dogg and X-Pa vs Billy and Chyna for rights to the DX name as the headliners.

Pretty sure I watched this when the network first dropped at some point, but whatever.

HERE WE GO!

Something I never thought of that I just did while watching the opening Austin/ McMahon video package... 1st blood matches have got to be super risky. What is you accidentally catch a glancing punch and the dudes wrist tape somehow grazes your forehead weird and makes bleed? So much wacky **** can happen. Are there any notorious 1st blood match botches that come to anybodies mind? Seems like the easiest gimmick to accidentally botch. It's also a super lol stipulation 99% of the time anyway. No idea how or why it ever got used so much.

Also, I miss Sunday Night Heat as the pre show.

Opening match is Edge vs Jarrett for the IC title.

Apparently the night before Edge showed up as a surprise opponent at a Toronto house show and beat Jarrett for the belt. I think I'm following this right.

Guess the IC Title hasn't always been super important back in the day after all...

Side note, Debra was never really that attractive. Like at all.

edit: To clarify, killer body. Face is just super bunk to me.

No, the Attitude Era was when the belts got savagely murdered. It's been quite a while since they had their optimal status.

I love the end of the Edge/Jarrett match

Match starts off with a bunch of takedowns and reversals. Cool little technical mat work to kick this one off.

After a minute or 2 of filler Jarrett rolls out of the ring, snags the belt, and heads for the ramp waving it at Edge on his way. He is claiming "this is mine anyway". So instead of being a "surprise" opponent at that house show, Jarrett was scheduled to face someone else and someone pulled the ol' switcheroo and out came Edge for the match.

At least the moved lower titles back then and made them interesting, no matter how little storyline sense it made. For what it's worth, I don't remember this angle at all so it could have turned into a neat storyline, but I'm highly skeptical and doubt it.

more filler....

Oh how I don't miss those silly ****ing sleeper hold time breaks.

"Alright, I'm gonna slap this bad boy on for a minute and he passes out. Then we're gonna have the ref raise his hand 3 times to check to see if he's out! 1! 2! THR.... NO! NO! HE'S UP! GO NUTS CROWD, GO NUTS!". Gimme a break.

Umm, so Jarrett whips Edge front first into turnbuckle than randomly falls over backwards and Edge falls into him for the head to the nuts. Have to rewind to see if I missed something or it was a botch or what... LMAO okay super botch. Apparently Edge was supposed to come off in some way that Jarrett would run into him and get knocked over.... unfortunately Edge came off taking slow, awkward steps backwards and Jarrett basically had to bounce his head off Edges back randomly to make the spot work.

I also just realized, this was Edges Brood days. Why was he getting the IC title then anyway? Poor Christrian.

Oh sick, lights go out, weird noises, fighting in dark. Lights come back, Edge is standing over Gangrel on the outside waving his finger like Mutumbo with the blood bath blood randomly on the right side of ring.

So I guess this was post Brood days. Either way was he not still all but 100% tag teamer at this point?

stuff happens, Gangrel and Deborah interfere a little, Jarrett wins.

Decent match all things considered. Unfortunately nothing that happened made sense.

Ummm, so Austin randomly comes out after getting his head bandaged up from a Sunday Night Heat attack at the hands of Taker. Flys into ring like a bat out of hell for no reason and stuns Jarrett. Calls out Taker.

This is pretty sweet.

Got a 3 on 2 match. APA vs Hardyz and Michael Hayes. In the pre match promo Hayes claimed he was going to "lead by example tonight."

Ahahaha that's the part I was talking about.

Seemingly Austin and Jarrett has legit heat which makes that spot so much better

Hardys attire is shirtless with some ugly ass olive khakis. They needed the bright colors.

Hayes out there throwing STIFF. First was a kick that I couldn't tell if landed outside the ring, then a hammer fist to Farooqs back that you could hear the thud off of over everything.

This crowd is sooooooooooooooooooo dead fwiw.

edit: Hayes back in 1 on 1 with Bradshaw. Bradshaw seems to be just as stiff in return.

Acolytes squashed the Hardyz pretty hard. Double power bomb spot on Hayes to finish it.

Best spot was a poetry in motion turned into a mid air clothesline from hell.

Okay match. Not good, not awful.

A funny D'Lo anecdote... when I was about 14 or so I was looking through my moms HS yearbook. I came across a kid named "Darrell Brown" that was a God damn spitting image of D'Lo. I would have bet lots of money at that moment my mom went to HS with him.

A few Google searches later and it turns out it somehow couldn't have been him. I was super crushed with that news.

We got a hipster Stephanie love front row with a "I love you Stephanie McMahon" sign with the text inside a big heart.

"I loved Steph before it was cool to love Steph. Fully Loaded 99' man. Check the sign."

D'Lo does look like a chunkier Cuba. That's not a bad thing, though.

Al Snow Bossman hardcore match!

This should be awesome. Snow cut some weird, psycho-like promo before the match. When Bossman came out Snow was on his knees screaming as BBB whacked head a few times with his nightstick.

I just don't know.

Hahahaha there was a football down marker back there. Bossman hit Snow with it, Snow dropped to his knees. Then Bossman changed the down to 4th before going for the punt on Snows side.

Just too good
