lita should have been given 20ish mins. she was a real star and deserved a little time. but that 30 minute story about PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER was unnecessary and should have been scratched imo. wwe could have told lita weeks/days in advance she would have x amount of time.
event started at 9, she got off the mic around 9:50
mr. t was a celebrity gimmick. 5 minutes tops. seriously. thank hogan, vince, piper and maybe a few others then gtfo imo. if they didnt cut him off after 20ish minutes, he would have went another 30. he warned everyone before he started!
Well it's not just that Mr. T was boring. It's that he came on stage as a non-wrestler and then never at any point even alluded to his time working with the WWE. At a WWE Hall of Fame induction. It was incredibly bizarre. It would have been far more forgivable if he was at least talking wrestling while being long-winded. Instead he took what could have been a nice 60-90 second footnote about his mother and turned it into a whole damn off-topic speech.
as somebody battling a pill addiction atm, i was moved to near tears at many moments during Jake's speech. very much admire him. i just finished the HoF and I'm off to watch a bunch of Jake matches starting with Tuesday in Texas.

Reason: Warrior was way better than expected and Razor was awesome but way to short

It was very bizarre indeed. It was honestly like he didnt understand the concept and was treating it as if he had won some sort of lifetime achievement award. I dont really get how he devised that speech for this occasion at all.
Yeah, Jake wasn't particularly good in the ring. He did have the psychology part down pat but his work overall was still meh. People point to Honky legit hurting him with that guitar attack and how he wasn't the same after that, which could be it I guess. I still have nightmares of having to watch him fight Rick Rude to a time-limit draw at WrestleMania IV; good God that match is awful.
i had pretty much no exposure to jake even in the older stuff ive decided to watch. But holy hell that speech didn't even seem real, if that was an entirely scripted speech for a movie i would have believed it.
Of course it was all genuine though and it was powerful stuff. That's probably my favourite speech of any of the hall of fames, and it was from someone i had no previous connection too.
DDP seems like a gent too
edit: Just seen Hornswoggle v el torito segment. wow that makes me so angry.
