Apparently, the Chris Benoit ban will be lifted on the network.

I'm slow, already discussed.

Pretty much the only wrestling I watch these days is WWE Vintage Collection. I'm sure I will subscribe to the Network at some point because I have loved wrestling since I was 3 years old and I still read about it every day but I rarely watch anymore because I hate the product they put out now.

I guess this goes here:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, WWE has signed a new five year deal with SkyTV. The deal would give Sky the rights to RAW, SmackDown and Main Event through 2019 in Great Britain and Ireland. The deal will also include them carrying the 12 PPV events on Sky Sports Box Office as PPV events. While the financial deals were not revealed, the deal is believed to be at least three times what WWE's last deal with Sky was for.

WWE also signed a five-year deal with Cable Thai Holdings in Thailand.

PPVs in USA go from $60 to $10 (kinda), while minor PPVs here go from 0 to £15. At least we get The Main Event now though!

I'll probably cancel Sky Sports anyway once BT Sport get all Champions League games (next season?).

Well, that kills the chances I will get WWE network before I am closing in on 35, then.

Nah season after, 15-16.

Pretty sure this new deal with Sky means they've laid the groundwork for the Network over here - removing our existing free PPVs* to give a greater incentive to sign up.

*Free with a Sky Sports subscription

Or maybe the live PPVs won't be available on the network in the UK. It seems counterproductive to increase the amount of events we have to pay for if we can get a month's network subscription for 2.5 times less than buying the monthly PPV. Unless Sky insisted on the increase to take up some of the shortfall from not as many people buying the shows that are currently on Box Office that people will be watching on the network. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

We have to subscribe to Sky Sports at $35-40 a month on top of your existing TV subscription (anything from $10-70 per month depending).

That used to include all the PPVs, then sometime around the early '00s we had to pay for Mania-Rumble-SSlam-SSeries and then a few more as time went on. Now it's going to be everything.

I'm pretty sure it would cost a UK resident more to (legally) watch all WWE programming than a US resident.

It was awesome. I watched Jericho win the undisputed title for free on Sky while jetlagged.

Via a connected laptop, Roku, games console or maybe a future Smart Tv app. It will be a lot easier than editting videos on Youtube.

I still blame Channel 4 for some PPVs being on Box Office. They were all "free" on Sky Sports until lolC4 bought some of them and aired ads during the Royal Rumble before showing the rest of them on a one hour delay. Then Sky bought them back and put them on Box Office.

Yah, but I never had sky for a kid so for that ~12 months they had most of the PPVs I was happy.

Well yeah it's good that more people got to see them, but showing adverts during a live PPV (including during the rumble match!) is pretty unforgivable. I bitch about it whenever I get the chance.

Was the Miss Kitty flashing incident the only time there was nudity on a PPV?

Didn't Sable get them out on PPV?

edit: Nope, she did it on Raw.

Jacqueline had her top ripped off on one of the UK only PPVs. It was set up to look like a botch, but I am pretty sure it was planned.

Also, Mae Young was apparently wearing a very gross/realistic prosthetic when she took her top off at RR.

Well I signed up for the free trial; the on demand section is as advertised and has everything; I watched Rey/Psicosis from BATB '96 before coming in to work today. Unfortunately no Clash of the Champions from WCW that I can see though, nor SNME from WWE, so no luck on those. They had a few old MSG shows available also, some of those Legends of Wrestling round tables, and more.

My XBox downloaded the app but wasn't accepting my username/password combination for some reason. I'm guessing this problem resolves itself soon enough (I e-mailed them), but if they don't get it together on that front I'll surely cancel within the week. Admittedly the free trial seems likely to suck me in if I can get that going though, just from the on demand library and the ability to actually watch PPVs on my television.

Seems like I can watch on the computer but not on PS3. Like LKJ said above, I'm guessing this problem will work itself out, hopefully sooner than later.
