They made that look super gruesome and I didn't fully understand how they did the stunt so believably. And then Michael Cole spammed "COULD IT BE SYMBOLIC? COULD IT BE SYMBOLIC? LIKE HE'S HANGING THE CORPORATION?! YES, I BELIEVE THAT'S SYMBOLIC!" before segueing into, "So, WrestleMania party was last night..."

Day after SummerSlam 2000: HHH starts with an opening promo (because ofc), Angle comes out and HHH accuses him of wanting Stephanie and that's why he took her to the back at the end of the show. Kurt innocently says, "I can't lie! I'M A GOLD MEDALIST!". Kurt was amazing.

Early Kurt was just superb, his sanctimoniousness was so believable and hilarious at the same time.

Looking back, his schtick was like a sophisticated critique of putting super athletes on a pedestal and them being flawless role models

And one day, he would go on to inspire JR’s worst commentary moment by miles and miles and miles.

Not his fault, obviously. Kurt was indeed amazing.

Oh I'm sure you've seen it and I'm sure that nobody else finds it as intensely irritating as I do.

Just painful beyond belief. Jim Ross having clearly pre-rehearsed a set of hacky lines to respond to this moment with...that's just so far from the JR I know and love.

Naturally a quick scroll into the comments section affirms what I suspected, that people ****ing love JR's work in this moment.

Quote:
"The Million Dollar Princess has become a Dairy Queen!" (One of the best commentary lines of all time imo)
For the love of God. That's far and away the WORST of a whole painful sequence. These are the moments in life when I can only shake my head and think of Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, dripping with disdain, saying, "you ****ing people."

Imagine how much worse it would've been if it was Michael Cole, though

Michael Cole is the one of those two guys that has basically no ability to disappoint me though.

Kurt called the milk truck his favorite wrestling moment ever in a recent podcast.

No big surprise there. It was a fun idea for a segment.

That was a really terrible stretch by JR. Kinda hard to believe.

Aww man loved the milk truck segment!

I guess the commentary was a bit cheesy but it didnt stand out to me at the time I watched it a year ago lol

Sean Mooney was such an NPC

I don't know what that is, but in the early 2000s I saw Sean Mooney working a Diamondbacks pregame show and I marked out a bit.

My memory tells me that should be Barry Horowitz, but the face looks weird and I don't remember him in WCW.

I don't remember him there either, but it's certainly him. Wiki says he was in WCW for over 50 matches in 1990.

I happened to wake up to the Owen tribute episode of Raw, so ended up restarting it.

First 3 tributes, Foley, Bradshaw, and Mark Henry's poem, have each brought tears to my eyes.

Owen was 34. I just turned 35. Nuts.

The tears will REALLY flow when Triple H says, "He was never a piece of trash."

In all seriousness, that show has no shortage of tough moments to take. The pic of Owen holding his young son at Canadian Stampede always hits me.

Yeah, I thought on that HHH comment for a minute. Kind of curious, maybe that's a phrase he uses to describe certain behavior.

Yeah, my friend once theorized that he was saying that Owen was the rare wrestler who wouldn’t cheat on his wife. Seemed plausible.

I got that overtone from a few of the tributes.
