That's great and makes a lot of sense too. Bruno matches were difficult to watch often. It was just punching and stomping, yet fans when absolutely nuts for his come backs and the north east, especially NY (MSG), is very Italian American populated.

Backlund was much better in the ring, but interviews put you to sleep.

If you guys are looking for a good book to read. My friend Kenny Casanova, author of the Brutus Beefcake, Kamala, and Vader books just put out the Danny Davis story. This book was incredible. A great read about Danny's life story, growing up in the streets of Brockton, MA and how he got involved with the WWE.

I promise you, it's a great read.

New drop of Superstars episodes into 1994. Glad they're still adding to the back catalog despite getting ready to transition to Peacock.

I loved his heel ref storyline from ‘86-‘87.

Roddy Piper bodyslams Big John Studd at a random 10/4/86 Boston Garden house show.

Kind of takes the air out of that whole Studd vs. Andre WrestleMania bodyslam challenge.

Nobody will ever rate it among Bobby Heenan's classic lines, but it's legitimately in my Heenan top 10 quotes when, during WrestleMania VIII, Gorilla Monsoon says, "Highly unlikely you'll pin anyone with a side headlock. In all my years I've never seen anyone pinned with a side headlock..." and Heenan deadpans, "I've pinned a few people with it." "You?!" "Yes." "What, in your dreams?!?"

The visual of Bobby Heenan winning a match via pinfall with a side headlock is part of what tickles me so much.

Lol I remember this. His comedic timing and genius in the wrestling world remain unmatched to this day.

Finisher: Side Headlock lolololol

10/21/86 Prime Time Wrestling has Nick Kiniski vs. Steve Lombardi (pre-Brooklyn Brawler). Lombardi was the one working heel here. During a break in the match, Gorilla suggests that maybe Lombardi would be Heenan Family material. Heenan says, "Nah, I don't waste time with losers." After Kiniski wins the match, they're back at the desk and Heenan takes another dig, saying, "You know what they say about Lombardi: it will take a good man to beat him, but it won't take him long."

Funny that Lombardi did go on to become a Heenan charge.

Still been watching the 1986 stuff, and wondered how and when Honky Tonk Man turned heel (knowing that he would go into WM III as a heel).

On the 11/8/1986 Wrestling Challenge, they went the straightforward route: he does an interview with Jesse Ventura where Jesse basically says, "So, you really haven't been getting over as a babyface. What's up with that?" And then Honky acknowledges it and says he's pissed about it. It wasn't an immediate turn, but I guess that's where the burn starts.

Guess that's similar to what they later did with the Rougeaus.

I still have childhood memories of early Honky cutting a promo in which he’s “kissing babies with puke on their mouths” and not getting over. Same one?

No, but that may be coming. He complained about slapping greasy hands in this one.

Maybe a discussion happened and I just can't find it, but did anyone here weigh in on this whole "WWE network ending" thing?

In reading about the transition to Peacock, I'm assuming all the old stuff I like is going to disappear.

We're going to lose it for a bit, but not forever.

Peacock will continually add WWE Network content to the library, making the entire WWE Network archive - including every WWE, WCW, and ECW PPV event in history - available to stream on demand before SummerSlam.

Oh, I assumed you were talking about Peacock Premium since I know that's packaged in with a couple of providers. Anyone can get free Peacock, though that's limited access (it's what I currently have, but I'll subscribe at the end of the month since I won't be billed for WWE Network anymore). Do you have full access to Peacock's entire catalog? If so, I'm pretty sure that will include access to WWE Network. If you're not sure, then I think that the litmus test would be whether you have access to the entire series of The Office instead of just the first two seasons.

I’ll have to check. I watched one episode of the new saved by the bell and never watched again. I have Comcast so it’s prolly premium .

Pretty sure it would mean having full access but having to put up with ad breaks when watching archived stuff.
