It'd be a fun trainwreck. When I watched that segment live I thought it was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen. I haven't watched it since so I keep that opinion

So I knew that when Terry Taylor arrived in the WWF, he wrestled dark matches and was being considered as a candidate for the Mr. Perfect gimmick. However, I was under the impression that, when he lost out on Mr. Perfect, he simply debuted as the Red Rooster. Not so.

I've been watching old Primetime episodes here and there. On the 9/13/88 ep, Taylor simply wrestles as Terry Taylor against a jobber, and the announcers suggest that he's going by "Scary" Terry Taylor. None of that floored me, but the fact that he was the first one rocking the Sharpshooter sure did:

That really taints the TLF skit on YT about Vince coming up with the Red Rooster gimmick. My life was better prior to that post

Yeah you're right, pretty sure Sting was using it before this.

I approve of the fact that the Gene Okerlund collection includes the Bret Hart "who are you to doubt El Dandy?" promo.

That said, I'd love it if they just had some of the random PPV report segments he would host. As a kid I remember that long desert between Mania and SummerSlam. The debut of the SummerSlam Report each year was a much-needed light at the end of the tunnel, and every new match announcement felt like such a big deal. "Oh man, we're getting The Warlord vs. Tito Santana?!"

Those were the best. You'd get your world title match announced there. The way they're announced now is so bad. Getting 5 or 6 Rumble entrants announced each week was like getting candy. It's kind of telling of how good they were since both companies had them for every ppv.

Man I forgot about those reports they were amazing.

I liked the ones with Sean Mooney and what looked like a busy newsroom in the background

It sure did make wrestling seem like serious biz to a kid like me

Thanks for sharing. That's pretty awesome. And if that's a Corporal Kirchner action figure, I have to imagine that's pretty rare.

Mad props for the LJN figures. They are so much better than the Hasbros that everyone seems to gush over

I absolutely loved that match as a 19 year old. I still see HHH swinging the gun into Vince's head when I think about the match. I like the ending

On the original ppv, you got to see Miss Kitty topless

On the top row I think that's Cowboy Bob Orton and Sam Houston.

Not Sam Houston, Outback Jack.

I had all those figures as a kid, gave them away... so sad...

For some reason it does tickle me to see him being a carrier of King Haku decades before he was the elder statesman of the WWE officiating team.

Just found that Bobby Heenan used to get nuclear heat back in his AWA days

On January 25, 1975, an angry fan fired a gun at Heenan in Chicago's International Amphitheatre after Heenan interfered in one of Bockwinkel's matches. Heenan was unharmed, but five people sitting ringside were injured, one of them critically.
