Hey dumbasses, there have not been 38 years of Intercontinental glory, and there's a strong reason that the photo montage would even (correctly) include Marty Jannetty over anyone in the past decade.

I believe the maid is Flair's current wife.

Wasn't she the one they did the wife swap with Piper with? Assumed wife swap meant wife.

Unlikely. They've never been married.

The gist is, they bought rights to a specific usage. They didn't buy rights for all uses.

To start with the obvious, for example, Martin Scorsese bought the rights to Layla for the movie Goodfellas. That doesn't mean he can use Layla in all other movies he made.

So WCW could have bought rights to play Voodoo Chile in specific WCW events. Those rights might have been limited to those specific events or TV shows. Therefore, the rights don't extend to web usage.

That's not a good analogy. We're not talking about using the songs 'in all other movies made'. We're talking about repeats of events they were originally purchased for.

Layla can still be heard when you stream goodfellas on netflix.

Most artists should be happy to have their music playing via these streaming services since it could generate additional sales via other channels that they otherwise would not have received

Example: After hearing the Steve Austin and Degeneration X themes via the network for the first time, I have added them to my wrestling themes playlist on Spotify and now generate both Jim Johnston (genius BTW) and the WWE many extra cents per month

This idea could even work for the blatant ripoffs, listening to the DDP theme might inspire some greaseball to buy a Nirvana box set when they otherwise wouldntve bothered

Holy ****

Kevin Nash vs Giant at Souled Out 98, well worth a watch, if not only for Nash's powerbomb botch on Giant

That looked so, so nasty

None of my friends watch wrestling regularly but they will watch and enjoy it with me when they're around. "It's hot coffee" is notorious. I had to bring it up again in my whatsapp. I love how they cut to a shot of the coffee spill and Tony's like "there's the hot coffee, it could have been tea". What's a pot of coffee doing at ringside?

So I watched the first 3 eps of the Mae Young classic and it's been averaged at best so far. No match has been a stand out and a lot of the girls seem very very green. Toni Storm looked awesome but her opponent was kind of crap. Shayna Bayzler has potential to be complete aids for the women's division if they're pushing her hard.

The Mae Young classic was a TERRIBLE idea, the talent just isn't there

They should have ran it with shimmer/shine talent, and a few from Japan. Would have been better.

I really enjoyed it but I like women's wrestling more than most here. Round one primarily just seemed like a showcase for characters since they didn't have a ton of time for the matches. They've gotten rid of the chaff you mentioned in round one so I'm hoping the quality will pick up a lot. All of the "main event" matches that paired two experienced wrestlers against each other were really good.

I was really impressed by some of the women already in NXT. Rhea Ripley could be a big deal with her look + athleticism, Dakota Kai and Sarah Logan are both great in-ring and extremely likable, and obviously Kairi Sane is going to be at least a big part of NXT. I'm excited for what this tournament can do for the women's division.

Baszler does nothing for me. I don't give a **** about MMA and I don't find the "shoot fighter does wrestling" approach to be interesting at all.

So far i like the Mae Young Classic a lot - remembers me of the Cruiserweight Classics which were outstanding imo.

As a German obv i like Jazzy Gabert and i hope to see more from her in the future and maybe she gets signed through NXT - which would be awesome and push the German Wrestling alot if we have a Female Talent also presented in the Mainstream Media - at least in the past weeks one of german biggest newspapers cought fire and is writing a lot about her and Wrestling in general thanks to Alexander also obv.

Did you get to GOAT Snow yet?!!? I imagine so. Perhaps he was a letdown because of the dubbed over music? Having his original theme was crucial to him getting over imo.

Easy access to drugs at all times. Late 90s it would have been rare to be a wrestler and not on something.

Lol, Ive only seen 2 Al Snow shows since Ive scaled back to watching ECW PPVs only

The last PPV he was injured but he cut an awesome promo from the locker room with his head. Im about to watch Living Dangerously 98 though so ill see if he appears

Do you have any specific shows u recommend that display the GOATSnowness?

What was more prestigious out of the WCW World TV title and the WCW Cruiserweight title at this time? (96/97/98)

Im guessing the TV Title since it doesnt have a weight limit but it has always seemed that classier wrestlers were competing for the Cruiserweight belt at this time
