In the promo for the match vs Guerrero, he mentions that he'd emphasized too much on drinking and playing cards so my guess is that it happened within 6 weeks of that ppv. Match vs Guerrero is omg and one of my all time favorites but Eddie is my all time US favorite

Oh yeah, Judgement Day 2004 is my favorite match of all time, and then the GAB match is super fun

Who wouldn't love the JD match?

Watched the GAB match for the first time shortly after getting the network. Thought it was fun but not good but not bad.

Also fwiw somebody on wrestlingforum is also watching all the 2004 ppvs and rating them. Curious about your order if/when you finish. He has:

Current 2004 PPV rankings

1:Backlash
2: NWO
3: WrestleMania XX
4: Bad Blood
5: Summerslam
6: No mercy
7: Unforgiven
8: Judgment day
9: Vengeance
10: Taboo Tuesday
11: Royal Rumble
12: The GREAT AMERICAN Bash

Ill rank them when i finish. Not sure if he was a smackdown mark, but NWO was pretty overall terrible aside from the last 1.5 matches or so

First episode of SD! on right now. Didn't realize that Rock/HHH w/HBK as special ref happened on this episode. Pretty iconic ending to the first ep.

I need to compile a list of 10 must watch matches. Looking for more "obscure" matches.

With all that said, a rewatch for the millionth time of HBK vs Razor ladder match at Wrestlemania X is at the top of my list as it is my all-time favorite match.

So far I've got:

1) Razor vs HBK ladder match Wrestlemania X
2) 6 man HIAC Armagedon 2000
3) HBK vs Taker HIAC 97'
4) Bret vs Austin submission match Wrestlemania 13

Need some Angle and WCW stuff on this list somewhere.

HBK-Angle from WM XIX if you haven't seen it recently or at all. Absolutely amazing.

Obscure?
Luger vs Flair @ Starrcade '88
Steamboat vs Rude @ Beach Blast '92
Sting vs Cactus @ Beach Blast '92
Cactus/Sullivan vs Nasty Boys - Slamboree '94
Dustin Rhodes vs Bunkhouse Buck - Slamboree '94
Angle vs Benoit @ Unforgiven 2002
Benoit/Angle vs Edge/Mysterio @ No Mercy 2002
Lesnar vs Taker @ No Mercy 2002
Orient Express vs Rockers - Royal Rumble '91
Elimination Chamber match - New Years Revolution 2005

5 from each. A couple aren't really that obscure but I never see them brought up on this forum so I threw them there. I could probably come up with a list of 100 must watch matches

HBK/Angle is from WM 21 btw, WM 19 is HBK vs Jericho and Lesnar vs Angle

Undertaker vs Edge - SummerSlam 2008 is absolutely must watch
Undertaker vs Angle - NWO 2006
Angle vs Rey - SummerSlam 2002
Finlay vs Regal - Uncensored 95
Steiner Bros vs Nasty Boys - Halloween Havoc 1990

I watched SummerSlam 2002 last night. I had forgotten how awesome that entire PPV was. The whole show is great but the two main events steal the show. The storytelling in HBK/HHH is some of the best ever, and Brock/Rock is just a great match. Rock has to be one of the most underrated sellers of all time.

Ah right, WM 21. That match is easily top three in HBK's greatest hits.

Part I and Part III of the Steamboat-Flair trilogy from '89 are on there. Unfortunately the second one was on Clash of the Champions and I don't know if they have any intention of uploading those.

They announced they're going to upload all CotC events and SNME events soooooooooooooooooon.

I'd have listed those but def. not obscure . Def must see as is Flair vs Funk from GAB '89

No Vader match on this list makes it an ultimate fail.

Vader/Sting strap match from... sometime in 91-92, I forget the exact date or event, but it is glorious

Or hell, Vader/Flair at Starcade 93 is very very good as well

Just up to Lesnar/Goldberg at Mania 20. Incredible, amazing crowd match, one of the first I can remember. Any chance the Batista/Orton crowd tops this if its a true 1 v. 1?

I also assumed those weren't obscure . They were thought of.

Strap match is SuperBrawl 3 or 4.

Just found out about that match that Sting had a blade on his fingertip. At the end of the match he sliced Vader's ear open accidentally and cut an artery and Vader legit couldn't get up.

It may be fun to put together a list of must see ppv matches. I may do that when I'm bored tomorrow.

There it is Sting/Vader Superbrawl III (93).

You can even go back to Bash 92 and watch their whole series up to Slamboree 94, they rarely put on a bad match together

Really? I've always been of the thought that Vader is greatly underrated by people watching now. He was probably the best/most agile Big man ever to wrestle, and every move he did looked like it legit hurt

It probably helps them look that way that he was said to have legit worked stiff as hell.

Which I think is why he was always so compelling, the fact that he had as much respect in the locker room to have guys say "Yeah, lets go out there and do it pretty much for real" is not something you would find very much today. Who garners that kind of clout now? Maybe Sheamus? Anybody else?

Just got done with the second PPV of 1998, No Way Out, and my God it's utter garbage until a pretty entertaining main event. I think this was probably still part of the period of time where WCW would put on kickass undercards with ****ty main events and WWF would put on ****ty undercards but Bret/HBK/now Austin would save the show from being completely awful by being awesome in the main event.

No Way Out featured an 8-man tag in the middle of the card between the Nation and a hodgepodge of babyfaces. It was an elimination match, except that everyone involved seemingly forgot that it was an elimination match and it just ended after one fall 10 minutes in.

Yeah, I mean Vader did have that respect because he sure didn't shy away from taking sick bumps himself. Nobody today would be comparable.

Welp, WCW 92-93 is my next stop after 2004 now, Cant wait to get to Havoc 93.

Don't shun me, but I was a huge Scorpio/Bagwell mark at that time.

I loved Scorpio from the time he debuted at some CotC w/Simmons until he left as Flash Funk in WWF.

WCW 1992 is probably the best year ever for a US wrestling promotion not named ROH.

What's on Havoc 93 besides Vader/Cactus (which I thought was bad)

Yeah, this on demand library is just so addictive that I guess I'm just going to take it up the ass on these XBox 360 issues during the first week and trust that they'll get it together soon. I can't imagine following through on canceling at this point.
