Touche. Fair point. HBK seems like he was a risk. I guess in the mid-90s Vince was going with the youth movement, needed more than just Bret and Taker, and had lost faith in Lex Luger (even though he largely screwed Luger himself with his own poor creative decision). Then Kevin Nash didn't do great business as champ, and he and Scott Hall were in contract years anyway. Also both were drug-addled like HBK. Not too sure where else you go at that point. Two of your better other talents are Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith, and you probably don't want to consolidate too much power in one family. Also Michaels was better-looking than them. To an extent, the process of elimination brings you to Shawn even though he had his issues.

IYH events from 1995 have some great matches. Bulldog vs Bret from December is amazing. Better than Summerslam 92.

Bret was on a roll in the 95 IYH events. That match vs DBS, vs Hakushi at the very first one, vs Jean Pierre Lafette.

Just watched the Edge and Christian podcast with Austin, a good watch. ANything was going to be a step up from that rotten Paige one.

Haven't seen any thread about that podcast on wrestling forums so figured it was pretty pedestrian and worth skipping.

Ha I completely forgot he did one with Paige. Kind of curious to see how awkward it is now.

Has anyone watched this "Table for 3" show? I found it by accident and starting watching. It appears to be sort of like the "Legends of Wrestling" show they did, but in a different setting. I dont remember seeing any advertising for it, but hopefully it becomes a regular thing because Im a sucker for these round table type shows.

The first show is Piper, Orndorff, and Okerlund discussing Wrestlemania. Orndorff looks like he should be riding one of the old timey bucycles with the giant front wheel while wearing a one arm singlet and lifting a barbel with 500lbs. written on both sides.

It wasn't hard hitting or anything, but ok. I mean, what's he going to ask them that's controversial. Would have rather seen the Duddleyz. The Eric Bischoff preview thing that followed was interesting, although unfortunately I think it's for a DVD and not going to be on the network.

Was the Fabulous Moolah always 65 years old? Her face looked the same in 1980 as it did in 2000.

To be fair, Bastion Booger having one of the Doinks pinned at Survivor Series and then getting distracted out of finishing the pin by the opportunity to eat a banana was a pretty damn funny random moment.

On the list of legitimate reasons to be so distracted that you completely lose focus on the match, banana consumption is pretty low, but still above "entrance music of nemesis is playing".

Just do this to distract him, obviously:

Guess you never saw her when she was 'Slave Girl Moolah' and first won the title.

Flair was so dumb. Didn't he realize that when he was face, he won a lot more matches with that move. He shoulda stayed face. Duh.

Something similar to this. I don't recall ever seeing Flair actually win a match with the Figure 4.

It happened occasionally. He would beat enhancement talent with it in either affiliation. The big matches I remember him doing it in were against Terry Funk in the I Quit match in '89, and Randy Savage passing out in the hold to drop the WWF Title to him in '92.
