I guess they could have had Bret Hart join the match as Savage's partner and still have him do double duty by facing Michaels later in the night. That would create a chance to really strongly put him over as the new world champ after sabotaging him by not showing his hotshot title win on TV.

I haven't watched any of the territory shows since the WSOP started. But, I plan to get back to them

Same. I just haven't been watching as much wrestling as usual in general. Every intent to pick it back up.

I see that this month's archive drop was them filling in the WWF MSG house shows from 1984.

I decided to put on Wrestlemania IV to sleep to last night. I always loved seeing it at the video store because it was a double VHS. Such a marathon show, I always thought. But at 3h33m, it isn't remotely unique today, barely eclipsing a typical RAW. Lol.

I wake up to see Brother Love's segment as WM5 is now playing. What a ****ing thing to do in the middle of the show. When I was a kid I thought Brother Love was old, probably pushing 60. But looks like Bruce/Tom Pritchard is pushing 40.

When I recently realized that Harvey Whippleman wasn't even 30 it blew my mind.

I didn't remember Brother Love doing that weird loud fast mocking voice. Its really terrible.

Time for the Hot Rod to put the fire out!

It's definitely nice to know that Bruce Prichard could give himself a break from creating the Red Rooster for long enough to produce that ****ing segment.

Bruce was only mid-20's when he was doing the Brother Love stuff.

On commentary, Vince shills USA's upcoming screening of Planet of the Apes.

Heenan: "Starring Gorilla Monsoon. No frontal nudity allowed."
Vince: "Bobby Heenan, this is a family show."
Heenan: "I know. That's why I said that."

Good stuff.

I fell asleep to the Bret/Owen match leading off Wrestlemania 10 and woke up halfway through the Iron Man match at 12. Its so funny to me that the commentator Vince McMahon is the same guy who became Mr. McMahon.

Well falling asleep to Bret/Owen can't happen. On the bright side, sleeping through all of WM XI is a pro move.

Haha, yeah. I actually watched it in the last year.

King Kong Bundy and Ted DiBiase come to the ring in possession of The Undertaker's urn. During the match, Taker retakes the urn. Then Kama, already a stablemate of Bundy and a mentee of DiBiase, comes down to the ring and re-steals it. Somehow this community property of the Million Dollar Corporation is now so exclusively Kama's that, 10 seconds after obtaining it, he has a full plan to melt the urn down and turn it into a chain that he wears around his neck. They spent nearly a full damn year on that ridiculous "Million Dollar Corporation steals the urn" story.

Well that's certainly not a brag for the performers.

At WrestleMania IV, Bam Bam Bigelow performed the worst-looking splash in WrestleMania history. At WrestleMania XI, Bam Bam performed the worst-looking Boston crab in WrestleMania history.

He was quite good in the ring generally, but facts are facts.

I have no idea how someone thought of the name "One Man Gang" for a wrestler, let alone convinced anyone else to green-light it. What a stupid name and concept.

Lol, every so often I'll spend a few minutes thinking about exactly that. Love that its Akeem, too.

It's unfortunate that so little is put into filling in the archives these days, and the majority of what gets dropped every third Monday of the month seems to be focused on filling in the remainder of 1994 Superstars and beyond. Superstars was once the A-show, but had been squarely relegated to B-show status by this point, and it obviously isn't helpful that the product was not in a good place as of late 1994.

I wish their future uploads would go into adding to the Wrestling Challenge that they started to upload, or to filling in more WCW Saturday Night. I'd prefer Superstars from earlier years too, but it sounds like there's some sort of legal issue preventing them from uploading those at this time.

When are they going to put up the next Icons documentary? They've been sitting on the Luger episode for awhile now, is there some specific reason it isn't being released?

Back in 1993, when Vince suddenly had to pull Jerry Lawler off of TV and replace him on commentary, the answer he came up with was...

Bruce Prichard in a cowboy outfit doing a Dusty Rhodes impression. ****ing ****, man.

IIRC this character died within a week or so, but it was awful.
