Underrated theme and great portrayal of a goofy character by Darsow!

I was relieved when the link didn't point me to the damn golfer gimmick.

Skinner, Berzerker, Hercules (Power and Glory edition, when he looked like the second coming of Outlaw Ron Bass), and Col. Mustafa on a Survivor Series team in 1991. As non-comedy teams go, I wonder if there's a worse Survivor Series team.

Sgt. Slaughter pins Col. Mustafa after an atomic drop and a low-impact clothesline. Even as Survivor Series eliminations on transition sequences go, that was truly weak.

I always bought into Tito Santana's flying forearm as a legitimately strong finisher. Rick Martel selling the hell out of it at WrestleMania V probably helped quite a bit. As El Matador, Tito's "El Paso de la Muerte" always looked like nothing.

Bammer, Booger, and the Headshrinkers has to be bottom of the barrel, right?

Well...when I said "non-comedy teams," I was specifically trying to carve out the Four Doinks (and I guess the Doink vs. Lawler mixed match). But admittedly, that team you just named only really has one comedy-like character. And yet, he got eliminated in that match when he had a pin wrapped up and then got up to eat a banana, so I'm back to thinking there's a case to be made for them being a comedy team.

Also Bam Bam wasn't a joke and the Headshrinkers were eventually pushed as a top tag team, so they're not a total job squad. Skinner/Mustafa/Herc/Berzerker consists of three guys who never won a PPV match, and then one (Herc) who was on his way out of the company and was 100% a JTTS at that point.

Tito/Bushwhackers/Nikolai in 1990 is pretty terrible.

Blazer/Beefcake/Brunzell/Houston in 1988 is bad within that time capsule, gets rescued a bit by the fact that Owen returned to the company and carved out a great career; if the Blazer run just went the six months and that was that, that's three straight-up jobbers and Ed Leslie.

Truth Commission vs. DOA in 1997 is awful on paper, and I assume was awful on screen.

Obligatory clip from the period when Herc was a jobber.

Marty Jannetty/Hakushi/Barry Horowitz/Bob Holly also an impressively bad team

Big Bossman/Albert/Viscera/Mideon doesn't get enough love either (and they were beaten by a single Big Show)

Shawn Michaels and the 3 knights was saved only by Shawn. Otherwise an equally laughable entry IMO, once i found out who the knights were. Also only recently learned why Lawler was replaced last minute, as I was a young lad still back then.

I see three Hall of Famers and a WWF Tag Team Champion. Well, Tito is both I guess, so two WWF Tag Team Champions.

I was going to say that there are three more Hall of Famers in this pic, but...Jacques Rougeau for some reason is not one. There must be some bad blood, because there can be no question that Jacques easily clears the bar for what qualifies as a WWE Hall of Famer these days.

It's an odd thing, but Bobby Heenan flipping out along the apron after Demolition won the Tag Team Titles on Superstars is one of those clips that just forever stuck in my mind for no apparent reason (aside from the fact that a title change on Superstars was pretty surreal).

Hundred percent will be one day, great performer. I was a fan of Raymond and his theatrical savate kick as well

How much heat did that heel team generate at its peak jeez, great heels

Ironic that "teams of five strive to survive" went from a WWE Thanksgiving slogan to a real world one this year.

Back in 1989, Hulk Hogan was on full publicity tour for No Holds Barred. Given Zeus's brief stint as an in-ring talent, they tried to cross the movie promo into kayfabe and trotted out a work where Tiny Lister legit hated Hulk Hogan in real life and felt he should be the star of that movie.

...I believed it for real. To be fair, I was quite young.

This appearance by Zeus and Sherri on Arsenio Hall before Summerslam was hilarious, shame about the quality but I lolled all the way through. Sherri and Zeus kept kayfabe in the face of Arsenio's goofyness so well
