My Time s ultimate late 90s early 2000s and deserves respect

I think Steph diminished it a little in my mind lol but she should have had her own theme

Ohhh, Steph did one day get her own theme.

To this day I find it bizarre just how awful it is. One would think a McMahon would insist on something way better for themselves. She basically got something that you would think might go to a random woman acting as the authority character on your #3 show.

Yep I think in a sense, theme song potential was still being explored in the early 2000s and it's true that the My Time theme def got Steph extra heat. I think it was accidentally well played by Vince

Seriously The Game theme is goat after 40 listens lol

I'm scrolling back through the draft thread I posted above (I see that you were railing it at the time too now), and there was a surprising amount of support on this board for my preference for My Time as HHH's best.

It's that beginning that begets nostalgia with that one, I'm pretty sure

Still great but stuck in a bit of a time warp

What songs would have been amazing themes for selected superstars?

I can't help but think that "a place for my head" by Linkin Park, if adapted, would have been a great theme for an unhinged superstar

Rereading this draft has been fun.

SRM going on and on about how terribly we were missing a super obvious pick, then finally just unloading and revealing that it was Shane McMahon's "Here Comes the Money," only to discover that it had been picked a number of rounds ago, was pretty great.

Surprised I held off on trolling until the final round - I've come a long way

I also miss how much less we post GIFs in these threads, especially blueboyaids.gif

Ron Simmons's face turn in WCW featured Harley Race cutting a racial promo on him where he said that back in his wrestling days, "I always had a boy like you carrying my bags," prompting Simmons to attack him. But they bleeped "boy," and you couldn't tell what Race had said. Granted that the way he used the word "boy" was absolutely racist, and deliberately so within the context of what he said, but the fact that they bleeped it always made me think that Race had said something more jarring.

As a child, Virgil was largely defined to me by being the recipient of the worst suplex of all time:

He wasn't even back out for DiBiase's next match in the WM IV title tournament, because he was still recovering from the horror of it all. After that, I'm supposed to buy him as DiBiase's muscle? Really?

Pretty impressive that this show featured both the worst suplex of all time and the worst splash of all time (Bam Bam during his match with One Man Gang). At least it had that classic chinlock-fest between Rick Rude and Jake Roberts.

Surprised Hogan even did suplexes - all I remember him doing were punches/kicks/clothesline/big boot/leg drop

I mean, he essentially doesnt there. He just nonchalantly tosses Virgil over his head.

As he finishes dropping him, he mutters something backward like, "LOL of course I'm not going down to the floor with you."

The tease of "Mr. Perfect is definitely going to be in the corner of either Randy Savage or Ultimate Warrior at SummerSlam '92," followed by that just not happening, was one of the most contemptible bait-and-switch moves the WWF pulled during that era. That was easily the thing I cared most about going into that event, and there was just no payoff at all.

If anyone wants to see Bret Hart hit his side on elbow drop from the 2nd rope, and actually even get a pin, watch the Old School Boston Gardens card from 08/02/1986 where the Hart Foundation beats the Killer Bees
