Great stuff, Eddy. Also glad that Bret and Nattie had shaken off the incident and were out celebrating into the wee hours. I enjoyed the "weirdest conversation ever with Virgil" bit too.

Sure. We were talking to Virgil about the guy who attacked Bret.

Virgil: He’s lucky I wasn’t there, I would have ****ed that mother****er up. One time after a show in Minnesota, this guy was talking **** to me, you know what I did?

At this point I’m expecting him to say he punched the guy in the face. Nope.

Virgil: Ripped his mother****ing dick off!

It gets weirder.

Virgil: Fed it to a dog!

Then he started barking out loud. It was actually fairly entertaining to be honest.

As a newer person to these parts how did this all happen? Seems proper surreal that a guy who was probably a big deal when you were a kid or whatever has been so, I dunno how to phrase it, nice isn't the right word but you get what I mean.

Was it just a chance your arm and it managed to stick or a reason to remember you, etc?

I wrote up a trip report somewhere in the wrestling forum. I went to dinner with Brutus for my 40th birthday and we kept in touch ever since.

I looked up that trip report. Sounds like a really nice experience. Was that a fan thing you paid for? A birthday present experience type thing etc.

Regardless it sounds awesome. Having a social wife/girlfriend is always the nuts when you're nervous about a situation especially when they get it but they don't "get it".

Watching random stuff on network and the August 11, 97 RAW had both Rock turning heel for the first time and the first time HBK, HHH, Rude and Chyna were together. Despite being an average episode the results of those 2 decisions turned out to be pretty major.

Razor Ramon always created this weird effect where he was a very large man himself, yet his finisher and signature moves revolved around picking his opponent up, and lots of big men were too big for him to run any of his signature offense on. Razor vs. an even bigger man was always an awkward matchup.

Also I long wanted him to get to be WWF Champion, but I always had a hard time imagining his tire-screeching WWF theme as being a world champion's theme.

From KOTR 1994:

So uhh wouldn't it make sense to be slagging, say, Bruno as "the old" rather than Andre, given that Vince and Bruno were still amidst a vicious blood feud and Andre had only been dead for like 15 months?

Wow the lead in Nitros to Spring Stampede 2000 have really got me psyched up for a WCW resurgence!

Russo and Bischoff joining forces and introducing the New Blood vs the Millionaires club

I got to finally see Shane Douglas vs Ric Flair and things are looking up for WCW!

Was the wait worth it? I bet you didn't even know you were waiting for it! From when Shane Douglas threw the NWA title down on ECW tv in 1993 and said how Flair didn't matter until 2000 when they finally had a real feud, it's finally here!

Smoky Mountain Wrestling 133 (August 13, 1994) has a tag match around the middle of the show between the Heavenly Bodies with Jim Cornette vs the ThrillSeekers that turns into a bloodbath.

So much blood. It was pretty gross.

Thumbs up, must watch.

wow I had no idea SMW was up there now. I remember seeing the mail away forms to get SMW VHS tapes in PWI for the bloodbaths there. I debated many times getting them but never did. I have got to see these things. Especially The Gangstas in SMW!

It's hard to imagine a worse selling point for a match than "it's super bloody." I mean, maybe "there are lots of crowd chants"?

In my defense, I was 16 and had not yet discovered ECW on tv .
