Sting in 1996 compared to pretty much everyone else is mind boggling. He wasn't out for injury. He left after Fall Brawl in September to do the peek-a-boo angle. How did he make only $87k which was 2x < Meng and only $3k more than Disco? What?
Rhea Ripley is so awesome. I wonder if they're going to make this a NXT UK only feud. If it crossed over to the US version, it has the potential to be the 4th great NXT story arc.
I really think that Jesse’s commentary about Hogan in that match was the single primary reason that I was always lukewarm on Hogan as a kid. Perhaps I would have been Team Savage either way, but Jesse eviscerating Hogan absolutely resonated with me.
Yes! I vividly remember ordering that ppv and being blown away. There had never been that kind of spotfest prior. Sadly it's forgotten because of the bigger and better TLC matches.
Seriously stop and take a moment to appreciate the age we live in
Having a massive library of wwe events to view on demand was a little kids dream come true back when you had to rent VHS from the store. Although those were great days
The spot where a wrestler doesn't get a three-count (most commonly because of a foot on the rope), doesn't hear a bell ring, doesn't hear music, but gets up and goes into full celebration over his apparent win is one of the dumber recurring spots in wrestling.
For that matter, most of the time the foot on the rope is a big pile of garbage too, mostly because of how a majority of wrestlers execute it. It's commonly doomed from the start by the way that they usually give away what's happening from the placement in the ring and oftentimes the camera angle. But beyond that, putting a foot on the ropes as a way of escaping a pin while being unable to kick out ends up looking silly because most suddenly have perfect wherewithal and move their boot to the rope on two without issue. I could see it being a good spot if the wrestler's free leg is kicking without enabling him to get a shoulder up, but then the desperately kicking leg gets the rope, but I don't recall seeing that maybe ever? So it's just dumb.
