Monsoon always put Bret over especially hard. This all seems doubly strange to me since I was a big Hart Foundation mark who went many years not buying into Bret as a singles star. I think Neidhart was always the biggest reason I liked the tag team.
You were right not to buy Bret as a singles star.

That post didn't mention the part where it eventually took Shawn Michaels being THAT unlikable of a babyface that I was outright strong-armed into being Team Bret in the lead-up to WM XII, after which my support for him stuck.

Sorry. I was talking about SCSA ripping the suit. It's one of my favorite segments in wrestling history

Thanks, not knowing was driving me nuts

This is completely off topic but Dan is your name a reference to the NZ rugby team?

As probably the biggest HBK mark on 2+2, I will admit his first face run was pretty bad. At least the matches during that run ranged from good-great. I also wonder if this is an unpopular opinion, but I feel like his second run was greater than his first run.

I've seen you say that before, and I just have never formed an opinion because I wasn't watching for a good chunk of the return. I saw the most popular of his post-return matches, but hard to judge the overall body of work from that. His run in 1996 was ridiculous from a ringwork standpoint even though I hated his character and always rooted against him. The July 1995 IYH match against Jeff Jarrett is always one that I consider HBK's most underrated match that I've seen, and easily the best thing I've seen Jeff Jarrett involved in.

Yep, AllBlacks rugger related!

Lol I was just referencing that the SCSA stripper pants might have some value since they were part of a famous segment, thus they would likely show up on some buy/sell site these days.

Always sorta been fascinated by obscure memorabilia

Survivor Series '89, Zeus and Savage ambush Hogan and Beefcake in the locker room. A bunch of wrestlers pour in to try to get Zeus and Savage off. It's rather strange that Dino Bravo is the first one to step in to try to pull Zeus off of Hogan. Not only that, but he was just a couple of steps in front of Ronnie Garvin, one of his rivals all year, who he fought earlier the same night.

Bobby Heenan was pinned to close out a major PPV (still on Series '89). Never specifically remembered that even though I've certainly seen this show.

I always wish I could know what Raymond said to him at the end of the slam. You can see him saying something before quickly continuing on like a pro.

Some great viewing right now

Settling in to a Booker T vs Benoit 7 match series to see who will face off against Fit Finlay for the TV belt

Both guys are at peak and the matches are awesome

Wolfpac splinterization seems cool

Just watched the Raw before Over the Edge 98 and the segment where Austin gets Mr McMahon arrested was amazing

Booker and Benoit also had a best of 7 series for the US belt in the WWE in late 2005-early 06. Spoiler: Booker doesn't wrestle in the final match due to an injury. His replacement:

Spoiler:
Randy Orton in one of Benoit's very best matches which says a lot

I cant believe Hogan put over Goldberg so clean for the world title on the Nitro before BATB 98.

Im a little in shock

Also, if Kevin Greene wrestled for a career rather than played Football, he would be one of the GOATS

I turned on survivor series 1990 playing while I clean the house. The show starts with a series of graphics that runs down the card.

Lot of weird stuff going on with these teams.
