Do full tapes/videos of the early to mid-80's GAB, War Games, and Bunkhouse type events even exist?

The Sheepherders were completely different animals than the Bushwhackers.

Apparently I was actually watching the last episode. I thought that somebody itt said it started in 85. Gonna have to start this over

They did exist. I rented the 87 Bash around twice a month for a couple of years as a very little kid because I loved it. Crockett Cup was another one. They're on "classic" torrent sites but WWE should really put them up.

Watching Rumble from this year atm. This match is the poster child for that thread "What's wrong with the WWE?". After Bryan gets eliminated the match is just sad and pathetic. After Roman comes in and cleans house while getting massive boos, I couldn't help but just laugh. Nothing has changed in the 11 months since this match. It's all about Roman and he continues to get **** on because of it.

Wow they have some Smokey Mountain Wrestling and AWA shows on there now

Will have to incorporate them into my viewing at some stage

Checking out the first look (preview) for Owen: Hart of Gold on the Network right now.

Sad to watch but I expect it will be excellent.

Hopefully that's a precursor for a HoF induction in 2016.

Great Heenan line: "I know the Hart family. When their dog ran away, they put Owen out back instead."

Not only that, but I just looked, and they have added some Stampede Wrestling and GWF

Oh sick, late 70s Stampede starring Bret Hart. One of the episodes is Bret Hart vs. Jim Neidhart.

It's a relief to see this big run of new stuff being added. After those initial reports that the vault has the least-watched stuff, I was afraid they just wouldn't bother adding more to it.

Wow, GWF really brings me back. Hopefully I'm not the only one here who rushed home after school to watch GWF on ESPN at 3pm every day as a grade schooler. I remember Baby Doll with Austin, Eric Embry, Fritz, Kamala, Missing Link, and especially Skandor Akbar's led Devastation Inc. that was always chasing the aforementioned Eric Embry.

Seems like they got a hard on for HBK atm. Possibly because of the upcoming podcast with Austin? The majority of AWA and Mid South shows have him on them.

I've never heard of GWF but after googling I'm interested in checking out. Also never seen any footage from Stampede. Any recommendations on good shows to watch? I don't have the time to do the whole series.

The only Stampede stuff they put up so far is three episodes from the late 70s. I put it on for about 15 minutes last night and thought that it was a cool time capsule, but it was from an era before ringwork really evolved so the wrestling would probably become difficult to sit through pretty quickly.

I remember seeing and enjoying Stampede stuff as it happened a decade later that would obviously look a lot different.

I remember a DVD making a big deal out of the Bret Hart vs Dynamite Kid matches in Stampede before Bret went to WWF. Bret likes to say he didn't wrestle a '70s style' so I'm guessing he's not a big fan of some of the other workers in Stamped at the time.

I'd recommend Mid-South and NWA World Championship Wrestling in terms of good TV shows to watch episode to episode. AWA had some guys before they came to WWE and quite a few good promo guys throughout the years, but the TV shows had a reputation for being rather boring, and matches and feuds tended to have disappointing finishes. Mid-South tended to end on cliffhangers that got people interested in seeing next week's show in the 80s and had a lot of good all around performers and really good announcing (Jim Ross, but Watts was good too).

I'm guessing I'm a little older than you, because for me it was World Class and AWA I ran home to watch after school, but I feel what you are saying

Watched this first look as well. I love that pushing the "Slammy Award-Winning" thing down everyone's throat and making the Slammies his elite props for two years was Owen just having his own idea and running with it. Apparently it didn't come from creative.

been watching all the raws/ppvs from survivor series 98 on
just got to backlash 99
was a pretty damn good ppv I thought. Liked the mankind/big show boiler room match a lot more than I remembered. The rock/austin rematch with shane/vince was a lot of fun too.

Love that Rock/Austin rematch. Thought it was > their WM match which I adore. Boiler Room matches get a bad rap too, I think. That match is pretty vicious and also the Taker/Mankind match at SummerSlam 96(?).

Theres a random 1998 Raw where instead of jr and king on commentary, its Jim Cornette and Shane Mcmahon. Pretty hilarious dichotomy, Cornette trying to paint a picture of a match while Shane interrupts to yell "OH!" and "WOOO!"

Every RAW from 98 is on there.

edit: Google says this happened on 9/15/98.

edit 2: 9/15 looks like it was a Tuesday but this link says it happened:

Rematch may have been better, it's close for me.

Got to over the edge 99 and uh, suddenly remembered why that ppv sounded familiar

They pulled the Stampede Wrestling stuff because apparently they don't own the rights to it. Here's a blurb on it -

ver the past week, the WWE Network has added a ton of archived footage from various defunct promotions, including the NWA, AWA, Mid-South, Smoky Mountain and Stampede Wrestling. By Monday, the four hours of Stampede Wrestling footage had already been removed.

It appears that WWE did not have the rights to all of the Stampede Wrestling footage that they were running on the Network. While WWE does own the Stampede Wrestling tape library, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart actually owns the footage for his Stampede matches. Unlike the rest of the library which they own, WWE would have to go directly to Bret Hart in order to license the footage containing his matches

Damn wanted to see those

Would Bret give up the rights or is he still spiteful to the WWE?
