Heard this between Jerry and JR during the start of the Vince/Austin era. Seemed poignant at this moment in time WRT Taker and all the old stars they bring back to try and get some quick ratings.

Heel Jerry: He'd (Vince) make the perfect champ, wouldn't he?
JR: How'd you figure that. he's 52 years old!
Jerry: Well, he...
JR: I mean we're not the organisation that lets the old guys wrestle all the time!

For your next bottle of Whisky, I recommend the Paul Heyman documentary

So I just recieved The Kliq documentary from my wonderful GF for my birthday. Can't wait to get home and run through it as I've been watching all of the Kliq stuff this week on the network.

Will report back with thoughts.

Head hurts today slightly. Not sure if boss man gave me a chair shot too last nite, or if the whiskey shots got me.

Will investigate the Heyman doc tonite. Been wanting to see it for awhile now.

Piper commentated on a number of main events in '90-'91. I still frequently watch the awesomeness of him and Monsoon losing their **** over Sgt. Slaughter winning the belt at Royal Rumble '91.

For the record, I didn't ask for the DVD and do agree with you, but I'm not mad about getting it

It's even worse when they make a youtube video featuring a new video and encouraging you to subscribe to the Network. Then you find out that it's DVD/Blu-Ray only and not available on the Network.

That's the case at SummerSlam '90 too.

Demolition turned face at Survivor Series '88, then slowly turned back heel after Wrestlemania VI.

Didn't they turn them back because the Road Warriors had signed?

Seems right. But they didn't get very far with the two feuding; it fizzled for some reason. By WrestleMania, they were jobbing to two Japanese dudes who the crowd literally didn't recognize.

Yeah, reading up on LOD vs. Demolition for the WM reviews I saw that LOD and Ultimate Warrior battled Demolition on a Saturday Night Main Event and then LOD and Demolition were on opposite sides at Survivor series.

While some of this was just crappy booking by Vince, I think some of it had to do with Bill Eadle of Demolition starting to breakdown pretty bad. I think he was already in his 40's during the best of their run.

Im up to 1993 on my watch and all the weekly early RAWs are awesome and cheesy

Its wierd watching everyone wrestle in such a small enclosed arena

Also I would hate to be a jobber wrestling the Steiners, they just brutalised dudes

Also lol Giant Gonzalez, that suit jfc

The guy was legit imposing though and if he had any in ring ability he wouldve been an attraction

It's funny, the Giant Gonzalez thing was my first exposure to El Gigante since I didn't have access to WCW in the early 90s, but I always read after the fact that the guy was just too ridiculously lanky to ever be taken seriously, which is why that crazy suit was deemed to be absolutely necessary. Only later did I ever go back and see him in WCW, and it's really weird to me that they viewed his body as being THAT much of a liability. To me his build looked pretty normal. Certainly didn't have a Lex Luger body, but to hear the critique you would think he was Jeff Hardy under the suit.

Me too, only watched him as El Gigante just recently and he didnt strike me as Shawn Bradley or anything

I thought he was fairly solid for 7 foot 7

I guess it was just Vinces obsession with muscle mass that caused that suit to exist

6 year old me even thought the suit was dumb
