I say this every time for every show, but the pre-show round table discussion things are so dumb.

I know I’m not the audience for it, but who is? Who wants to hear a bunch of dorks talk about the show in stupid kayfabe?

The main event appears to be Randy Orton, Matthew Riddle, and Drew McEntyre vs The Usos and Roman Reigns in a six man tag.

Ugh. That’s like a random lame Raw match.

Hype video for Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins. This will probably be fine, but I just find Rollins to be so boring. Cody too, obviously.

Long match. It was fine. Whatever.

It does bother me that when someone wins, they INSTANTLY play his music. Like, it was a half hour match, let the three count breathe for a second before you play his music.

Bobby Lashley vs Omos now. Bobby Lashley’s manager seems to be with Omos now, which is what they did with Roman Reigns and Bork and Paul Heyman, right.

Last Sunday I watched half of The Shining, and then switched to an episode of Dark Side of the Ring. I watch an episode every Sunday nite and have been watching them in order.

Anyway, it was part 2 of the Chris Benoit one. Eventually it hit me that they were both stories about a dad killing (or trying to) his son and wife.

This sounds like a dumb joke, but I don’t care. It’s what happened.

Also, Omos won, I think. I was mostly on my phone.

AJ Styles vs Edge.

AJ having a belt to hold up his wrestling trunks is hilarious. But that’s the highlight of this match for me. I’m not into either of these guys much.

It really is a bummer they don’t really utilize the pre-match backstage interview much anymore.

Edge wins, shenanigans. First Priest, then Prince Devitt, then a masked figure game out and hurt AJ Styles so Edge got the win.

Masked person… UNMASK! (they yell that in the shining) and it’s Rhea Ripley, who is now aligned with Edge I guess.

She’s awesome though.

Rhonda Rousey vs Charolette Flair in an “I Quit” match now.

I’m pretty anti-Rousey, and they switched announcers so Michael Cole is out. This could be a challenge to watch.

Final match was dumb fun, and has my vote for most entertaining match of the nite. Related, it’s the match I watched that I was also the drunkest.

Definitely a throwaway show, not recommended.

Austin vs. Rock in 1999 is pretty great.
Benoit vs. HBK vs. HHH rematch in 2004 is awesome
Foley vs. Orton also in 2004 is amazing
Other than that, I don't really remember any other matches from Backlash's.
