They had 2 best of seven series and both were pretty entertaining in my opinion. I'd vote for it over quite a few of the fueds listed here.

Bret v. Lawler is a big one we're missing. That had a lot of good stuff.

Also:
Perfect v. Flair
Razor v. 123 Kid
Warrior v. Rude

Flair vs. Terry Funk has been a significant oversight so far. Mentioning Sammartino/Zbyszko since I slipped it into a parenthetical earlier and it could get lost. Strongly nominate that one.

Flair v. Hart and Flair v. Foley if we take into account IRL heat.

Also:
Hogan v. Orndorff
Fantastics v. Midnight Express
Moolah v. Richter
Dean Malenko v. Eddie Guerrero
Savage v. Warrior

That's its third nomination. It should definitely be in the field, and not at a low seed either.

Bump. Looking forward to seeing this kick off.

For whoever runs this thing, we (voters) need to know if behind-the-scenes drama should be counted, or if we should just vote based on what happened in the ring/in promos etc.

That makes a big difference in how I would vote for Bret/Shawn, to name an obvious one. Frankly, without the behind-the-scenes stuff, I doubt they crack my top 10.

(Yah, srsly.)

Sorry, some things came up this week that I had to take care of. Expect to see the first set of matchups posted on Tuesday (to not interfere with HiaC or Raw bitching, er discussion).

I, personally, think the behind-the-scenes and "off-air" aspects of a given feud can be just as important or even moreso than the in-ring aspects in terms of overall "impact" on the product or the industry in general and have taken it into account with my seedings. Others' opinions are obviously welcome though.

I like your decision.

Especially with feuds like Bret and Shawn, it became public knowledge to even the casual fans that they legit hated each other. Same with Matt Hardy and Edge, right? And I'm sure many others. That added a ton to the on-screen interest.

I'm fine with that. It just changes the dynamics a little. There's a difference between "real-life fireworks" (Bret/Shawn) and really well-done worked feuds that seemed real (Bret/Austin), and depending on how you want to judge these things ... well, I think I've made my point.

Hope these aren't too late. I want some of the old-timers to be recognised.

Frank Gotch vs. Georg Hackenschmidt
El Santo vs. Blue Demon
Gorgeous George vs. Whipper Billy Watson
Freddie Blassie vs. The Destroyer
The Sheik vs. Bobo Brazil
Buddy Rogers vs. Lou Thesz (this one is mostly based on real life stuff, but they had a kayfabe rivalry too).

I had already nominated the first two but that was before you expanded it to include pre-80s and non-US stuff so I'm nominating them again just in case. I'm gonna assume that everything 80s onwards that should be included has already been nominated as I can't be bothered to go through it all.

I'm struggling to see how anyone is going to overcome the Big Boss Man vs. Nailz feud though.

70 posts and not a single Warlord nomination. We've really lost a step around here.

I definitely hope that El Santo v. Blue Demon is in.

Was there an actual lead-up to Warlord/British Bulldog or was that thrown together last-minute?

That was the one that I thought of. I think there may have been a build-up. Did Warlord use a powerslam as a finisher too?

EDIT: Yep. Wiki says running powerslam was one of his finishers. Think that was the basis for the feud. Who had the better crappy finisher?

That's a fun list, one of "dream" matchups involving guys with the same finisher.

Frog Splash: RVD/Eddie Guerrero

Diamond Cutter/RKO: DDP/Randy Orton

Figure Four: Ric Flair/Buddy Rogers (Greg Valentine available for triple threat)

Scorpion Deathlock/Sharpshooter: Sting/Bret Hart (Owen Hart available for triple threat, GTFO Rock with that crappy copy)

Cobra Clutch/Million Dollar Dream: Sgt. Slaughter/Ted DiBiase

Ace Crusher/Stone Cold Stunner: John Laurinatis/Steve Austin (kinda fun!)

DDT: Jake Roberts/Raven (also kinda fun!)

Powerbomb: Vader/Kevin Nash/Sid/Batista etc. etc.

Chokeslam: Kane/Big Show (eh, I'll pass)
