Big Show is turning to take on Shaq at WM. But that doesnt mean Bryan isnt turning too.

However, yes, they could try and turn him pure babyface again but i cant see it working out well.

WWE should do the triple turn at RR. Have Bryan and Show go full heel, and have Henry turn face or tweener.

Ive been thinking about how Bryan is going to win this match. My favourite idea is to have Bryan call private tweet a friend on Smackdown after a huge three way promo at the open of the show and have Tyler Black show up at the event to help him. Not the most modern story, but they get to bring up a talent who is more than ready, he has a similar style to Bryan and there is a huge history between them from ROH that when the eventual break up happens they could easily put on half a dozen 4.9* matches in a row with half a dozen new things every time.

Its kind of a repeat of Miz and Riley of last year, only where the person taking on the underling role happens to be ridiculously talented.

Then in Elimination Chamber he is locked in with Show, Henry, Sheamus Barrett and Rhodes and pulls off what no one saw happening when he goes over with a dominating performance after 12 straight weeks of DQs and no contests and interferences by Black.

This would be amazing and totally believable. Henry would get over as a face without changing his character at all, the same way Orton (sort of) did. He could just go around calling bull**** on all the stupid stuff that happens on SmackDown and kicking the **** out of heels instead of faces.

It might not happen at RR itself, but I can see it happening on the SmackDown afterwards. Bryan gloats after some half-assed escape victory, Show comes down and gets all angry and says how he doesn't care about hurting AJ or whatever, he just wants his title back etc etc, then Henry just gets tired of the whole thing and comes out and obliterates them both. Would be pretty effective.

Henry seemed quasi-face doing commentary when he was busting on Cole. I think a face turn while maintaining his unstoppable persona is very possible/believable.

Smackdown:

Dark Match:

* Ryback Skip Sheffield beat three local wrestlers in a handicap match.

SmackDown, Airing Friday:

* SmackDown opens with Big Show. He’s not happy about injuring AJ Lee and considers retiring. World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan comes out and cuts a promo on Show.

Bryan ends up slapping Show and telling him to leave. Show got pissed off and shoved Bryan into the corner before getting in his face. Mark Henry came out and taunted them about the cage match at the Royal Rumble. Teddy Long ends up coming out and making Show vs. Henry for tonight and Wade Barrett vs. the returning Randy Orton.

* They hype Orton’s return with a video package.

* Cody Rhodes defeats Justin Gabriel with Cross Rhodes.

* Backstage segment with Teddy Long and his assistant Santino Marella. Santino talks about a possible tag team with Yoshi Tatsu called Santoshi. Drew McIntyre comes in and Teddy says he’s about done. McIntyre vs. Sheamus is made.

* Sheamus beat Drew McIntyre. Drew actually got a babyface pop and controlled most of the match but Sheamus connected with the Brogue kick for the win.

* WWE Tag Team Champions Epico and Primo beat Santino Marella and Yoshi Tatsu in a non-title match.

* Backstage segment with Mark Henry and Daniel Bryan. Bryan says he respects Henry and knows he can beat Big Show tonight. Bryan tells Henry to go teach Show a lesson.

* Wade Barrett came to the ring and talked about Randy Orton returning. Orton made hsi return to a huge ovation from the crowd. Orton attacked Barrett and beat him up. Officials came down to break the fight up but couldn’t. Some of the wrestlers come down and break things up while Barrett runs off. Orton hits RKO’s on everyone who came to help – Tyler Reks, Curt Hawkins, one of The Usos and Trent Baretta.

* Hunico beat Ted DiBiase. After the match, Hunico and Camacho beat down DiBiase and worked on his injured wrist.

* Brodus Clay defeated Alex Riley in a good performance by Clay. Riley tried to win a dance off before the match.

* Aksana defeated Natalya in a quick squash via roll-up. After the match, Natalya attacked Aksana and locked her in the Sharpshooter. Tamina ran down and made the save with a Samoan Drop and Superfly Splash on Natalya.

* Big Show beat Mark Henry by count out. Daniel Bryan watched from ringside. They went at it and Henry stayed out to get counted out. Bryan attacked Big Show with a chair and they ended up fighting in the ring. Bryan locked in the LaBell Lock but Show broke free and chokeslammed him and hit the knockout punch.

Omg lol at Orton hitting everyone who helped with the RKO. He must have been hanging out with HHH while he was out.

Orton randomly RKOing people is pretty standard.

Bryan getting lots of mic time is awesome. The story they are building that Show can keep breaking the Lebell makes it seem like Bryan is gonna win by Submission instead of escape on Sunday, though ive no idea how they are going to book a cage match involving Bryan, Henry and Show that doesnt involve Bryan getting passioned and then somehow getting out of the ring while Show and Henry are locked up. Im hoping for something innovative in how they book that match.

If they wanted to do a double/triple turn they could have Big Show going nuts beating Bryan down with punches on the mat and have Henry start to feel bad and take Big Show out and then have bryan blindside henry with a kick or something and escape the cage or get the 3 or whatever. Then have Big show destroy henry after the match

I was thinking something similar to this. I would agree that it would be a good way to do the full turn. This is one of the cases where blood would actualy be super beneficial to a match.

Pretty good ep. The show is still more or less dead outside of the main event story right now, they just have nothing else going on, but that story is really good.

I wish Bryan was booked to be less scared of Big Show, but i understand the story and why they are doing it so meh, whatever. At least he is being set up as manipulative, sneaky and also intelligent. He has a spot right at the end where he throws the title at Big Show who catches it and then he dropkicked his knee which i thought was pretty awesome. Its the little things that matter most imo.

However it looks like Henry really severely injured himself tearing his groin again. It didnt look like a work either. The play of events for those not seen it yet was he:
1, was punching Big Show in the main event
2, went down without being hit where his legs completely went out from him
3, rolled out of the ring
4, they cut to the break with him outside the ring
5, cut back from break with Big Show declared the winner where Cole said he got back in the ring, got thrown out again then Show won by countout which im not sure i believe tbh

So yeah, its either the weirdest work ever or we can count Henry out on Sunday and its Big Show vs Bryan one on one in the cage, which will change the booking a LOT though it kinda makes me more interested in the match in a way.

If it's true that Henry is injured seriously, bye bye main event status.

Unless they do something where he comes back and just ****ing destroys everything again, this may have been his last chance ever.

PWInsider.com is reporting that Mark Henry is believed to have suffered a hyperextended knee at the Smackdown taping on Tuesday in Tucson. The injury reportedly occurred when Henry was throwing a punch and his knee moved forward before he planted his foot. This forced the crew to call an audible for the finish of Smackdown tonight involving Daniel Bryan and Big Show. Despite this injury and working through a recent groin injury, Henry is expected to wrestle at Sunday's Royal Rumble PPV.

03/02/12 Smackdown taping results

These were kinda covered in some other thread by Judy, but he missed a few.

These week's details are from http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/2489...in-progress-gg

Quote:
Smackdown opens with Teddy Long announcing the Elimination Chamber participants. The Smackdown Chamber match will officially feature: Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Big Show, Mark Henry and Randy Orton. Henry comes out to complain about his odds in the match and asks for a title match tonight. Long says he's out of the Chamber match and has no title match tonight. Henry puts his hands on Long, so Long suspends Henry. Henry said if he's suspended he might as well get his money's worth. As he goes to further attack Long, out comes Sheamus who hits Henry with a Brogue Kick.
I read somewhere else the phrasing is "suspended indefinitely". For the record i hate the word indefinitely, ive gotten into it in other threads, lol. Henry is injured ldo, seems a goofy way to do it with Henry complaining about his chances given he spent half of last year decimating people for fun, but whatever. Sheamus doing his Cena impression ldo. I expect to see more of this in the runup to WM.

Quote:
Sheamus beat Cody Rhodes with a Finlay style Celtic cross
Fire up the LKJ soundboard complaining about two big stars wrestling, but depending how this went down i would probably back him were it not for the fact Sheamus is on godmode cheats to get over to the max to headline WM and there isnt really any other heels worth beating right now. The thing to be critical of here is that the guy who is the number one contender at WM just beat a guy who is number one contender at the EC. Is this part of a burial trend (by default more than anything), or is this the groundwork of a feud. Note that before the match went down Cody cut another promo about being a dual title holder, so maybe...?

Also that is Sheamus's second Finlay move and his fourth finisher by my count, though weirdly not submissions yet.

Quote:
Cody Rhodes remains at ringside looking quite angry as the next match hits the ring. It's Justin Gabriel vs. Hunico. The match ended in a no contest because Rhodes attacked Gabriel before the match even started. After that Hunico and Camacho jumped in and attacked Gabriel until The Great Khali came down to make the save. Khali lays out Hunico and Camacho as Rhodes runs away.

Primo & Epico vs. Santino & Hacksaw Jim Duggan

The Primo and Epico vs. Santino and Hacksaw Jim Duggan match was a back and forth affair with a lot of "U.S.A." chants. Primo ends up hitting the Backstabber on Santino when Rosa distracted him. Primo scored the pin for his team.
Ive never quite gotten Duggan. Wrong era for me. Was he just patriotic, or was he really douchey about it with the whole 'Merica Number One!!! kinda stuff? Anyway, hacksaw got a tag match partnered with a Canadian who pretends to be Italian to take on two Puerto Ricans who needed a distraction to win it seems which is just terribad booking.

Btw, this isnt how you build a tag division. Sigh, the WWE needs a hero.

Quote:
World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan comes out and tells everyone that they should be vegans. He explains that he's a great role model and says he should be in the Elimination Chamber and Big Show doesn't deserve to be in. This brings out the Big Show. He says he would have been out sooner but he just finished a great big steak. They go back and forth on the mic for a bit until Bryan pokes Show and Show beats him up for it. Show goes to hit him with the Show Stopper but stops mid-way through because A.J. comes back.
Given they had a 5 month feud where Punk was the bad guy for telling kids on a kids show not to drink and do drugs whilst Jeff Hardy was the good guy cos he was a multi time drug addict ****up that ended with Jeff getting three strikes of the wellness DURING the feud and ending up in TNA where he got fired for showing up stoned to main event a PPV - given all that, im not shocked to see them repeating the story with Bryan and Big Show. Fingers crossed Big Show doesnt get heart disease and need a triple bypass!

Im Vegan so im better than you just doesnt have the same ring to it that Straight Edge had. But im still hoping he finds a couple of development guys and creates the Vegan Society where they all grow beards and talk about their pets who have names like Asparagus and Mung Bean and cut promos talking about how you can get plenty of protein with mixed nuts and how mushrooms are full of essential vitamins and minerals. But instead of being a comedy act they are deadly ****ing serious and win despite not eating bacon.

Quote:
Up next was Brodus Clay vs. Heath Slater. This was basically a squash match. Drew McIntyre comes out after Clay picks up the victory and attacked Brodus, but ultimately ended up getting beat up by him as well.
So much for Drew getting face turned. I dont think Undertaker could attack Brodus in a feud and not get booed at this point.

Quote:
Beth Phoenix & Natalya vs. Aksana & Tamina
This was another squash match, with Beth Phoenix and Natalya defeating Aksana and Tamina in about 45 seconds. Natalya tried putting Aksana in the Sharp Shooter, but Tamina makes the save and hits the big splash. They seemed to tease some tension between Natalya and Phoenix afterwards.
At first i was like "thats really dumb"

Quote:
Elimination Chamber Change

After the Divas tag-match, they showed a promo that announced that The Great Khali will replace Mark Henry in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match.
Then i was like "oh, could be worse". Naturally when you take out Mark Henry from the EC the perfect replacement is the guy who hasnt wrestled a match in over 6 months, not Brodus Clay who has been squashing fools for four weeks straight, twice a week and once on a Sunday.

Quote:
The main event featured Randy Orton taking on Wade Barrett in a no disqualification match. The two go back and forth outside the ring, using chairs and hitting each other on the guard rails. The match went back and forth the entire time. The finish came when Orton hit Barrett with two RKOs. Teddy Long came out and said Orton will face Daniel Bryan next week. That part may have been after the match.
A special treat to finish for LKJ. Ill back him on the hate of this. They are in a hot feud so naturally you put them in a no DQ match that should be blowing off the feud, except its 2 weeks and change before the EC where they will undoubtedly meet up again in the chamber. Its like, are they trying to get this feud to last to WM or are they going to blow it off at EC and then jumble them back into different feuds???

Quote:
Big Show is sweeping the ring with a broom
Thats from the dark match. Long story short, they didnt have a good match. Big Show is no HHH.
