I have drifted away from TLF since they started the Vince trial stuff. I’m finding it really hard to believe they are still doing it. Did they take a vacation or something?

They just finished it. It was a 14-day trial, so starting it at the end of July and finishing now is a pretty prolific pace they achieved, even if most of the journey hasn't been my thing. (I'm several episodes back, so I haven't heard the end or anything.)

Looking forward to them getting back to doing wrestling shows. I still need a Halloween Havoc '95 episode.

Did Havoc 95 open with Too Cold and Bagwell?

Nah; DDP vs. Johnny B. Badd. It's the event with Hulk Hogan pushing The Giant off the roof and then Giant no-selling it and showing up for the main event like 20 minutes later.

He had to get his heat back. Immediately.

The Giant falling off the roof - along with the commentary with it - only to come back later in the show still holds my #1 spot for most ridiculous thing wrestling has tried to play off seriously. I crack up every. single. time.

Interesting. Arn just covered this on his new podcast a few weeks ago. Said he hated wrestling Flair. Seemed to have some kind of inferiority complex about it. Love how he actually looks startled here that Flair just shot right past him.

One enjoyable thing I just discovered in that Flair/Sting gif is the crowd popping big for Flair's hot tag and then a whole different smaller set of people suddenly jumping up to pop for the sucker-punch on Sting.

“Chairman’s choice, randomly selected.” Seems legit. Looking forward to finally hearing another dive into a late 90s PPV.

Their best show in a while. I also had no idea before this cast that Judy and Buff were tag champs around this time.

I feel like 90% of the time I unpause a TLF episode, I'm thrust back into the middle of a Jack hyena-laugh or JP doing some "Lapsed Jukebox" bullshit. I always get that moment of, "Ah, I see why I paused this and moved onto something else."

I still think OSW is the best wrestling content of this type out there. They're crushing the last few episodes with Survivor Series '93 being a particular highlight.

edit: This is a vodcast. It's meant to be watched, not listened to. Every few months when a new one of these comes out it's appointment viewing for me.

I always skip ahead a minute for that stuff. Unbearable sometimes.

I never, ever get tired of TLF reading negative mainstream news coverage of wrestling. Hilarious every time.

Yeah those are great. My favorite for the clippings is the Backlash 2004 episode. This Rumble 90 episode was really good. Andre stuff at the end was hilarious. I'm gonna check out the rumble match maybe later today.

The Glengarry Glen Ross cold open to the latest TLF was beyond painful.

I need to get around to giving OSW a shot. I've long been aware of it.

Yeah, I don't know what OSW is- is it a YouTube show? Or a normal audio only podcast?

It seems to show up in my suggested videos on YouTube all the time, but the run times are daunting.

...although I could be mixing things up. Is this the one with the what bar and stuff.

OSW is a video podcast, it's meant to be watched. They usually follow one big story arc for several episodes from start to finish, I'd suggest starting at the beginning of an arc as opposed to just jumping in the middle, there's a lot of stuff that is easy to forget about the era and they do a good job of setting the scene. The runtimes are long but each episode usually goes through the build-up, PPV, and aftermath and they go by pretty quickly.

They'll also occasionally do reviews on current shows and bad films (wrestling related and not) - those could be a good way to get an introduction to their style and humor. The Wrestlemania 34 & 35 reviews were very well done in particular. If you're entertained, I'd suggest checking out their website as new content will get posted there usually 2-3 weeks before YouTube as they have to get permission from WWE so the videos don't get flagged and taken down right away.

I have 20-25 highway driving hours coming up in April. Can anyone recommend some must-listen-to TLF episodes?
