The United Kingdom is classed as a sovereign country, and England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are also officially countries in their own rights. I would have just grouped UK and England if it wasn't for the fact that Scotland was also a correct answer and it would have been wrong to group England and Scotland together, therefore England and UK will remain ungrouped even though it seems a bit weird.

Maybe I shouldn't have said officially but I did quite a bit of research and everywhere seems to say they are both classed as countries. When I first saw the answers I was more inclined to mark UK as incorrect fwiw.

Like I said I can't group them because England and Scotland are unique answers so if someone had answered Scotland it would have been wrong to group them both with the UK.

My thoughts are pretty boring. England isn't a country by any serious metric (i.e. sovereignty).

But this isn't a geography test, so I definitely wouldn't punish wes for saying it. I'd 100% group England/UK though (and any hypothetical Scotland answers in there too).

Hopefully it won't really affect anything either way.
