You don't get to complain about the offense:

The most ridiculous things I hear on twitter is Braves fans sometimes complaining about the offense.

Yeah, that's better than I would have figured.

I do routinely suffer the frustration of my mom complaining to me about the Mariner bullpen. She isn't going to be convinced by anything I say.

This is just pure oddness. Kirby's a guy who's a down ballot Cy Young candidate too. Well, at least he was before this strange statement.

What will there be a conversion about soon?

Yeah I was surprised he said that too. Though I guess maybe I shouldn't be, Kirby usually keeps a stoic demeanor on the mound but people who cover the team always talk about him like he's the most emotional Mariner outside of Jarred Kelenic.

I've certainly got no hard feelings toward the kid here. Rumor has it I used to be 25 years old too. Glad he owned that it was a stupid moment.

Aaron Rodgers first season as a Jet:

Completed Passes 0
Season Ending Injuries 1

I'll say that's one bit of insurance against what felt like the very likely scenario of people just forgetting to keep hating Rodgers and instead gaining a Strange New Respect™ for him during his late career.

A lot of us Jets fans are Mets fans too. We're conditioned for this.

And if Wilson makes any sort of improvement this year, this is still a playoff team.

But the really sick thing is going to be giving up a draft for nothing.

Yeah, this has the potential to be the 2nd worst Jets trade for a Green Bay QB in the last 15 years.

Prop bet on Jordan Love trade to the Jets in 2038 seems like free money, no?

Phil Nevin, managing with a one-run lead, man on first and nobody out, issues an intentional walk to Julio to push a runner into scoring position. Not so he could face some terrible hitter, but so he could face Cal Raleigh. Rollsafe.gif

The A's gifted Miguel Cabrera a bottle of wine for his retirement. A fairly cheap one at that. The larger problem is that he's a recovering alcoholic, having been in rehab around a decade or so ago.

Some idiot tossed the ball onto the field from the stands and hit George Kirby in the stomach while he was preparing for his next pitch.

This reminds me of a time that I was watching a game with my friend back in 2000, and there was a game interruption because a drunk fan ran onto the field and caused security to chase him down and escort him out, etc. The type of garden-variety game interruption you see sometimes. I correctly denigrated the fan in question, talked about what a pathetic loser he was, etc., and my friend took the position that it was a harmless act, which absolutely infuriated me. And in fact, now being made to recall this conversation 23 years later, I am again very angry at this friend. What a stupid ****ing idiot to defend the drunk wastes of oxygen who run onto fields during games.

I loved Shamelss, but the casting for this Von Erich movie. How the hell is Lip supposed to play Kerry Von Erich? Have the people who cast him in this role ever seen Kerry Von Erich. The actor is 5'7 and maybe 160 pounds soaking wet.

If you're referring to Shameless as your go-to, I'm guessing there's a good chance you haven't seen The Bear, which would be an important thing to remedy. I do agree with what you're saying, but the industry adjusted to Tom Cruise's height a long time ago, so we'll have to see how Jeremy Allen White actually looks in this.

I've never really liked the x actor doesn't look like y so he could never play him argument, kind of forgetting the point of acting.

Also I think facially they look similar enough that makeup will cover that easily.

Why is height an issue? He'll look as tall as he needs to. His stature is easily achievable from a 'hollywood' point of view. That's arguably the easiest bit.

I'd always take a good actor over someone who looks like them or has similar stature.

Don't have the streaming service the Bear is on.

There's going to have to be some major CGI to make me buy into him actually being Kerry Von Erich. I could suspend my belief in a lot of castings, especially if the character was fictional to begin with, but you'd have to stack two of him together to make on Kerry. It won't work for me if he comes off much smaller than all the other characters in the movie, especially the non-wrestler parts.

It looks like he built up his physique well enough, which is a much harder thing to cheat than height.

I mean I guess it's possible this will be an issue in the final product, but I'm sure the people behind the movie are perfectly aware of it as a potential issue, so at this point I'm just going to be optimistic that this will be a good movie and that the Kerry casting will be fine.

I think there's a very solid argument to be made that MLB should suspend Julio for NOT running at Hector Neris and meticulously breaking all of his ribs one by one.

It was a severe underreaction to simply yell back at him. Of course, Neris also ran into the dugout like a little bitch the second the benches cleared.

These Houston Astros are more unlikable than the Harbaugh 49ers. There, I said it. I've resisted saying it for a long time for fear that I could be caving to recency bias, but it's clearly true and not even all that close.

**** everyone who doesn't hate this team's guts. **** them all.
