LKJ, your favorite player got COVID:

LOL and he's apparently not vaccinated and has been violating protocols all season.

Yeah, that bit of news surprised me. My contempt for his personality runs deep, but I figured him for smarter than that.

Doesn't he also believe in chemtrails?

I'm now firmly in the LKJ camp of disliking A-Rot

Haha if he's into chemtrails then all bets are off, chemtrails rate as especially ridiculous even within the scale of wacky conspiracy theories. Only flat earth comes to mind as seeming more ridiculous.

Him responding to the direct question of "have you been vaccinated?" with "yeah, I've been immunized" is certainly something.

Amazing, so he actually lied about being vaccinated and that's not even the biggest NFL news of the day (Ruggs killing someone at 150+ mph).

Anyway, I step away from the forum for a bit and apparently missed two pages of Star Wars content that broke out. Glad to see you watching Clone Wars LKJ. While there's certainly a lot of filler in there (yeah, the droids stuff sucks so much), but stick with it. The Ahsoka/Anakin relationship is the major key thing throughout that Star Wars television universe, which is far FAR better than anything they've put out (except Rogue One) since Disney took over. I'm sure I've made that point several times in the larger Star Wars thread, but basically anything that Filoni/Favreau have put out is far superior to everything else and I mostly blame Kathleen Kennedy for that.

I forgot where the Mortis Trilogy fits in, but that's really the apex of the Clone Wars until you get fairly close to the end. Once you've gone down the Clone Wars rabbit hole, I think that probably commits you to Rebels too, which you won't regret. Key Clone Wars themes reappear. Without spoiling anything, you may want to revisit Revenge of the Sith before watching the latter part of the final Clone Wars season.

Curious to hear your further thoughts on the journey.

I just finished season one yesterday. I feel like, if I were to expect six more seasons of the same, I would surely just tap out at some point. Season one was half-decent, but nothing more. I trust that the feedback that this thing will trend up starting with season three to be solid intel though, so I'll start season two soon.

Various musings:
*Some of my favorite stuff was the one-off episodes on new planets with unique races. The planet full of absolutist pacifists made for interesting TV. Ditto for the race on that snow planet that just wanted to be left alone.

*It's definitely helpful to the overall texture of the SW universe to spend this much time with Anakin as an actually noble (albeit occasionally aggravating) character prior to his turn. Again, Episode II really didn't do anyone any favors.

*In season one, I feel fairly confident that they used Jar Jar Binks more than they used Mace Windu, which is just absurd. Beyond Jar Jar being independently annoying, his existence also creates really stupid plot devices. "Oh, he's in a hood, I guess we're going to spend a whole episode mistaking him for a Jedi." Yeah, thanks guys, some really inspired work there.

Going back and googling certain arcs/characters and when they appear, that's probably solid intel. I had also forgotten that Katie Lucas (George's daughter) probably wrote some of the better Clone Wars episodes.

Alright I'm not gonna lie, Aaron Rodgers being the guy in this Twitter thread makes me feel all kinds of vindicated for being an early adopter to the hate train. I recommend clicking through and reading the thread.

I remember reading this thinking I was going to mock you relentlessly for this while your qb champions concussion water but decided this wasn’t a battle worth fighting

Sometimes the best move is just to not play

The thing is that you could mock Russell Wilson for all sorts of **** and I’d probably just nod and agree. I think he’s a great QB, and given all of his work with children I think he’s very likely a good guy, but he’s goofy and weird in any number of ways and is about the last player I’d want to have a beer with. And I think this reality is mostly recognized by Seahawks and non-Seahawks fans alike. He’s probably about as popular and as disliked as he should be? Doesn’t feel like the public meaningfully gets him wrong.

At least after he had been in the league for a couple of years, he never had this semi-permanent halo that Rodgers for some reason did, which was always the most maddening part of the experience of being anti-Rodgers. It’s when fans cause me to go full Frank Grimes to maniacally plead the case against them that I descend into madness.

Thank you, thank you, I'm just glad I lived to see the day. The vaccine perhaps helped me live to see the day, since I picked up COVID post-vaccination and the symptoms were nothing more than a minor annoyance. No way to know for certain that I would have had worse symptoms in that one specific case if I was unvaccinated, but I sure was glad to be fully vaxxed when I tested positive.

I greatly enjoyed two consecutive early season two episodes (S02E03 and S02E04) of Clone Wars. I'm guessing it throws something boring at me next, but I'm still going to hope to get more out of season two than I got out of season one.

Googling to see which episodes those were, I was reminded that the first couple of seasons aren't necessarily in chronological order, if you hadn't noticed that already or even cared. Some mildly interesting stuff there. Bounty Hunter stuff usually solid (still bummed Aurra Sing turned into a throw away line to further establish Bennett in Solo).

I noticed that from going to Wookieepedia for some background on an episode and noting that they said an early season 2 episode was chronologically before some season 3 episode. That's annoying to me. At least I gather from how you worded your post that they eventually start telling a coherent chronological story.

Yeah, they drop the anthology method after a few seasons. Originally, they did it as a matter of practicality, as again there were originally several different studios producing episodes. So, they chose to do a "war reel" angle which is why the narrator speaks the way he does at the beginning of each episode. It's supposed to be reminiscent of the propaganda films of the World Wars era.

Around season 3 or 4, when the visual quality takes a noticeable leap forward, the episodes start to flow more chronologically.

There are some "machete order" guides out there to watch episodes in true chronological order, but I don't think it's really worth the effort.

Really glad you're sticking with it, LJK!

Wondering what the universe would look like chronologically, found this one that breaks it down by every piece of material (movie/show/book/comic/game) and even chronologically orders the CW episodes:
http://www.swbooks.net/saga/timeline.htm#timeline

And this one is just interesting watching orders:
