Now now, IRM. Starting an "LOL Duke" thread? Post-game taunting is only for the weak and unfulfilled beings.

Well I'm glad this tragic event never occurred.

Time for 49er management to pucker up and kiss Alex Smith's ass to see if they can't get him to come back aboard.

Houston is my favorite team in the AFC so I'm really happy to see Peyton not go to the Titans.

I'd have preferred Tennessee just because I don't mind them and I don't have any love for Denver, but meh whatever. Him going to the AFC rather than to an NFC West rival is what's important, so I'm happy with today's news.

I have a question for the older folks. Do you guys remember an old NWa arcade game?

I remember it had Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair. I cant find it whenever I google it

Quick question:

I give you the choice of the following for the next 3 years:

a) You go between 5-11 and 7-9 every year, being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs by December 1 each year, or

b) You win three Super Bowls in a row, but are led to all of them by Tim Tebow in miraculous 4th quarter comebacks; also, Skip Bayless becomes your #1 local radio/TV sports personality in addition to his ESPN duties.

Pick one.

I mean that's not even close, but thankfully (b) is only a fantasy.

I think you're greatly underestimating the Skip Bayless factor in this.

Haha. Don't get me wrong, Bayless is the nut low. But in your scenario he's just a local personality. I can just listen to/watch national broadcasts and avoid him, from the sound of it.

He's still got all his ESPN duties as well, plus the local stuff. Though of course there would be other local guys -- but, pretty much by definition of him being #1 local guy, the other people fall into "people that you would prefer to listen to Skip Bayless talk about sports than them".

Three Super Bowls might have been a bit much though; I think one year might have been a tough fight.

skip bayless started out as a columnist/mouthpiece for the san jose mercury news (biggest paper in the bay area). you think he's insufferable NOW? try a decade of him zeroing in on local teams trying to get national attention

A and i'm not kidding

I mean I'd still choose B myself, but then again I don't have all of the personal hate for Tebow that a lot of people do. I just think he sucks. In some fantasy world where he's leading my team to three SB wins, I guess he wouldn't suck that much.

Oh, I totally agree with you. In fact, I think that in the right system he'd give well above average QB results overall -- while recognizing that there's close to zero chance NFL coaches not named Belichick would be willing to spend a week trying to figure out what that system is. Fox was waaaaay above average NFL coach in that department, in fact.

I was just tweaking you for the "not even close" comment when I was pretty damn sure IRM was going the other way.

I just hope we get a chance to see this Tebow in SF thing play out. Minus the Super Bowl wins, of course.

Tebow + Sanchez + NY media. What a nightmare.

If Tebow wasn't going to disimprove a team that I dislike, I'd rather he had just gotten shipped off to one of the Florida teams where he would win 5 games per year and we wouldn't hear about him after September.

Again, not that I dislike the guy, but the media saturation around him is bat**** crazy.
