Agree with most views here on the good and bad characters but I'm really surprised people didn't like Spader, I loved it and was disappointed when he didn't come back.

The best night of comedy on TV was whatever night had seasons 3-8 or so of The Simpsons. I don't remember what else was on with The Simpsons, but the Talking Simpsons podcast is in season 4 now, and I haven't laughed this much in years.

You should check it out. Great podcast by the Lasertime guys (they also do Cheap Popcast, a wrestling podcast, though I don't listen to that one.)

S1 is patreon only, but s2 through the Mr plow episode of s4 are available for free.

Also, 30 Rock might be my favourite network sitcom ever. Tina Fey is great, and the entire cast really, really did a great job with their respective characters. Even the ones who weren't fleshed out enough to warrant their own arcs were well played. The whole series is fantastic.

Phyllis was inoffensive and bland. She basically acted as the dividing line between actively funny characters and actively annoying characters.

Game 7. Cubs. It's a big deal around here. I can only imagine what will happen to this city if they actually win tonight. I remember Philly back in 2008 when the Phillies won. It had been 25 years since the city won a championship and it became unglued. I think a conservative estimate of multiplying that by 50 sounds about right.

Im watching with a few cubs fans at a cubs bar so Ill suppose Ill root that way, but Im bitter knowing 100% if it were the Sox none of these friends would ever do the reverse

I just find the concept of the Cubs bandwagon to be an annoyance. Bitch forever and ever and ever about how much you've suffered, and the nation rewards you by rooting for you. Nothing more absurd than a 20-year-old trying to invoke over a century of suffering when they've engaged in probably five years of it.

The scattered stories about super old people who have legitimately been waiting decades for this, I can find some happiness for them, but most of this bandwagon is just kind of obnoxious.

That said, if they win I don't care, I'm not at all invested.

yeah, the reason im just leaning indians instead of full blown indians is that for every handful of 22 year old 3 year cubs fans theres gonna be some 60 year old getting to watch the cubs win the series with their adult kid for the first time in their lives.

and having been lucky enough to experience that with the marlins and papa halpert i think everyone deserves it at least once

Oh you guys dont even get the full effect of being from around Chicago. My 2 favorites are:

1. The people who have posted pics at Sox games in the last year, suddenly "life long" cubs fans
2. The people who have never mentioned baseball in their entire lives suddenly "life long Chicago born" fans

Most of their fans seem to be from Indiana anyways. Which is likely just due to WGN. Sigh!

Yes, Cubs fever is in full effect here in Indiana. Just a never-ending string of people suddenly talking baseball that I never knew watched it at all. We're not even THAT much further from Cleveland than we are from Chicago. In Indy we're closer to Cincy than any other MLB city.

Being an outsider who moved to the Chicagoland area, I still can't wrap my head around the idea that if you root for one team, you have to hate another. That just makes zero sense to me. And it makes even less sense that you would ever root against the local teams. If the local teams are winning it only benefits everyone living here.
