You can only get Sunday Ticket if you're in a place where you can't get DirecTV (in my case, an apartment). You go to the Sunday Ticket site and plug in your address and it will tell if you're eligible. But given what you've said, it sounds like you would be ineligible.

Ah, I remember you saying that now. My bad. Red Zone is sort of perfect for me, so no big loss, but there are other ways if there's a game I really want to watch one not being shown (legally, of course)

So, to change the topic - The Wrestlemania I've been working on in the write up thread - Hogan vs. Warrior - has been incredibly depressing with the death's of Dusty, Piper, and the stuff with Hogan (though that's not depressing, so to speak). In short, it's been really hard to get through, I've had about an hour to go for about 2 weeks now.

I like Red Zone, though I'm tortured by the thought that it's aiding the enjoyment of fantasy football blockheads. I had RZ last season, and while I would opt for it sometimes I usually prefer the experience of just getting into the one or two available games on Fox and CBS. I most commonly used Red Zone as something to quickly flip to if I saw on the scoreboard that another game that I cared about (usually another NFC West game) was closing in on scoring position.

When I had to pull up a stream of Red Zone one week that I wasn't home last year I learned that directtv has its own red zone with its own host, and he blows. Scott Hanson GOAT.

Also the idea of not having to watch commercials or getting stuck with Jaguars games as my only ones on tv (often the case when I lived in Orlando) will forever make redzone > the normal games on Sunday. The number of times I woke up, turned on the tv, and was met with JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS VS OAKLAND RAIDERS as my only game of the session was too damn high.

The greeter people in stores who act friendly but are there just to try to prevent stealing...do they actually prevent enough theft to justify a year's salary? Obviously they're not catching that much, but I guess maybe their very existence near the entrance is that much of a deterrent? If hiring those guys is +EV, it can't be by much.

Hate those people when theyre not paying attention as you walk in, then they notice you after you are an awkward distance past them and they still try to say hello.

Here's a scenario that sucks: you're walking up toward a point where you'll want to cross the road, but you're not there yet. A car that's going to cross your path arrives there at that time and decides, despite no traffic existing behind him and despite the fact that you're still several steps away from even being at the intersection, that he's going to stop for you and wait for you to cross.

Dude. Everyone's life is better if you just motor on through. You go through, and by the time you're through I can just walk directly across behind you without ever slowing my stride down at all. Instead you've stopped, and now I feel the need to awkwardly speed up and half-jog across the road in front of you because you made everything weird for both of us.

Haha I get that every single night. It also sucks when they speed up to the line and you have to basically stop in the middle of the road to make sure they stop, then continue on

LOL. This reminded me of when someone holds the door open for you and you're still like 20 feet away so you start that awkward run, or you do it to someone else.

Even worse is when cars do this for other cars.

If you turn down the right of way to be "nice" and let someone else go, you're not being nice at all.

You're ****ing up the flow of traffic and confusing everyone.

^ That is really bad. You should try living in a city with roundabouts with people who don't know who has the right of way.

I had one a few days ago where I was indicating to turn into the left lane. The person in the left lane was almost clear in front of me so I slowed down to turn. They braked to a complete stop while I was slowing down so that I could overtake them.

Traffic is my one weakness. I'm very laid back but when I get in a car I get tuff fish mad.

This is a circle/roundabout near where I live.

See that green stuff in the middle with a bisecting horizontal path?

Yeah, so somebody thought it would be a good idea to put a PARK in the middle of the circle. How do you get there, you might ask? Surely they put in a pedestrian underpass when they tore the place up and built the circle, right?

Nope. They installed ****ing TRAFFIC LIGHTS in the middle of the circle so that pedestrians could get across to the middle by stopping active traffic inside the circle.

They have since taken the traffic lights down and blocked access to the "park".

Risk vs reward; it's not worth trying to explain it to the cops the 1/10000th of the time you're drunk or stupid and walk in front of him.

The expert pedestrian who sees the car coming should wave him around like he's trying to score from first on a double in the gap.

In most of these cases the pedestrian would have to actively pick up a significant chunk of speed, usually going from walking to at least jogging, to actually enter the road. I think the odds of it, assuming the pedestrian is an adult, are a lot longer than 1 in 10,000.

If I'm the driver, I'm only stopping if a pedestrian of or near adult age is actually at the intersection. Or is something like five years old; I do err way on the side of caution if there's a kid in the equation, since who the hell knows what they'll do.

Mostly agree, though I did like Andy beyond just early S3. They ruined him by the end, but I think he was good for at least S4/S5.

Perhaps the fact that I live near a college campus and drive through it every day has my perception screwed but my initial rating was closer to 60% that they do SOMETHING stupid.

Yeah, perhaps; my e-mail the other night was inspired in the parking lot at a grocery store, where speeds are low (provided that you don't live in the Phoenix area, where they drive psychotically in parking lots) and in the rare instance that the pedestrian would do something stupid, there's usually an opportunity to stop.

I used to live in a city dominated by a university in the center of town. Driving through the campus could save a considerable amount of time if going between one part of the town and the other. If classes were switching or out it was guaranteed you would be slamming on your breaks at least once through that drive. However, as the weather warmed up and the hot girls came out of hibernation it made driving through the campus worth the hassle.

Yup, that'll do it.

Around here about 85% of them are on their phones; well over half of those are totally oblivious to their surroundings and probably don't even realize there are things like crosswalks with blinking "don't walk" lights and such.
