I'm so skeptical about whether I would actually enjoy that or just find it painful, but I suppose I'll give it a shot at some point.

Their playoff drought is still longer than the Sonics'.

The first episode was released and is fantastic. Highly recommended

I find it odd that people so insistently refer to their pets by name when speaking with people outside their home. That's how you refer to other humans.

When referencing my cat to people, his name is and always will be "my cat."

I think it should be reserved exclusively for people both parties know on a first name basis. In my experience its a woman thing. My old lady will just tell me about something Sarah said at work. Even if its the first time Sarah has ever come up. I hate it.

Your post about Sarah randomly triggered “who is champ?” in my mind.

Episode 2 of the history of the Mariners is out. Haven't watched it yet, but covers the Griffey years

As long as whoever you're talking to knows the name of your pet, I don't see the problem. And if they don't have a clue who you're talking about, then just bringing up a human by name would be just as weird.

What are you supposed to do if you have several pets and want to refer to one of them?

“One of my cats.” If need be, e.g., “the younger one.”

Going to lengths to describe the pet every time instead of just saying the name seems just as weird as saying "my second youngest brother" to me.

Again, given that the person you're talking to know the name of the person/cat/dog/whatever that is being referred to, I don't see why you shouldn't use it. That's part of what names are for after all.

The moral of the story is no one cares about your boring pet story.

Have a group chat with my comedy group where several people continually post "cute" dog photos of dogs they don't own. Some are dogs of SOs, but most are just random ones. I find it extremely tilting

What a great idea - here's a picture of a random cute dog I don't own (it's pretty high in the results when you google "cute dogs" though) :

I keep getting pestered by work people to post a picture of my cat. I'm not entirely sure I see the point, since people know what a cat looks like and also have access to websites such as Google.com.

The next episode is even better, it explores the early Griffey years up to the 95 playoffs

Confirmed. Loved it. Looking forward to the next episode. Dave Neihaus calling Edgar's game-winning double still gives me goosebumps, hundreds of viewings later.

Nice, if you haven't seen any of Jon Bois' other stuff, I highly recommend it. "Why do I Choose this for a living" and "Barry Bonds without a bat" and "Search for the worst punt of all time" are all exceptional.
