I cant picture a situation where I would use this with acquaintances who have never seen wrestling and they would get.

On the contrary, I have used heel a number of times to describe a dastardly person, and heel turn, specifically to describe something like Darth Vader offering Luke to join the dark side.

I use "no-sell" sometimes also. That one is only ever being understood through context clues.

I used "heel turn" because I figured it was a necessary and quick point of context for recalling a specific time that Lindsey Graham said something scathing about Trump. That first golfing outing between them was like the time that Right to Censor kidnapped Val Venis.

Hope all the wrestling people around here have a great Christmas, even if interest in the product is at an all-time low.

The Rumble is in a month. Hopefully that will drag us all back in.

Have you tried NWA? If not, try NWA. My interest in WWE is at an all-time low (I guess except for that period of time when I totally stopped watching for like five years), but NWA has me glued in a way that I haven't been to a wrestling product in a while. There are a few of us posting regularly in that NWA thread, but I would love to see that liven up further.

Merry Christmas to you too, and to the rest of the forum.

I'm really glad you like NWA lkj. Not just because you have another product to enjoy but because I don't like recommending things unless I'm sure the other party would like it and it's nice to get it right.

Happy holidays to everyone here. Maybe 2020 see the return of the Rollins blonde streak and his goofy heel laugh.

Merry Christmas all. Just a low key day—watching WM3 while smoke a strip roast.

Per the above—what ever happened to Billy Jack Haynes?

Last I heard about him was a few years ago and he did a shoot interview for high spots and he was a total conspiracy nutjob.

A Merry Christmas to the dwindling wrestling section of 2p2!!!

I hate each and every person who I encounter for even a split-second in an airport. It's unhelpful if the airport is already an inherently annoying one like O'Hare.

I will say: Indianapolis Airport is elite and may be the one thing I know of where Indianapolis has a strong bid for best in the country. Immaculate, efficiently laid out...you wouldn't expect Indianapolis to randomly have an elite airport, but you also wouldn't expect Michael Scott to be an elite figure skater.

I have now seen enough of The Office that I understand that reference.

How far in are you?

I was distressed to find out that Frasier was leaving Netflix in just a few days, but apparently it's staying on Hulu and Prime.

Office Ladies podcast is pretty solid so far. Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey deep-diving each episode and offering behind-the-scenes info.

Aaron Rodgers hits Jimmy Graham and Graham drops it: commentators flog Graham relentlessly for the rest of the half.
Aaron Rodgers overthrows Aaron Jones several times: "those two just keep failing to hook up."

Please wake me up when Rodgers stops turning people's brains to mush.

By the way, I've seen all the hand-wringing about the reversed scoop-and-score in the Ohio State game last night (I didn't actually tune in until the last couple of possessions), and I expected it to be a clearly wrong call. I don't know; it really kind of looks like an incompletion to me, or at least close enough to one that I'm surprised at the outcry and the apparent universal agreement that it was a blown call.

Needless to say, Ohio State fans have probably spent the last 16 years conveniently forgetting about the fact that they straight-up stole a natty from Miami after a phantom fourth-down DPI, so I hope they continue to lose games with high-leverage calls that go against them for the rest of time.

Good riddance to Freddie Kitchens, who wore a t-shirt blaming Pittsburgh for his player assaulting someone's head with a weapon. I'm sure he can find a gig with a high school or something.

Yeah I'm still bitter all these years later. I'm not even a Canes fan anymore since I went to school elsewhere (dropped them and picked up the school I went to) but I still hate ohio state. I'm still mad they blatantly stole TCU's playoff bid in the first year of the playoffs (TCU was ranked ahead of them, was better in Sag, had one loss by 3 @ one loss baylor, won their last game something absurd like 55-3, and dropped below Ohio State instead). I also think their fans are the worst outside of Penn State.

Saturday was a good day.

I had no real rooting interest in that Miami-Ohio State game either way until that call happened, at which point I got firmly behind Miami in hopes that the right result would still occur. Alas.

It's very difficult to really get behind any rooting interest in the biggest college football games, because nobody is likable. Dabo is irritating, but Ohio State has been one of the most unlikable programs in the nation for as long as I've watched, so I was behind Clemson. A bit more conflicted about the national title game since Orgeron is a lot more likable than Dabo, but rooting for the SEC feels like drinking poison.

In the NFL we occasionally get heel vs. heel Super Bowls, but I feel like it's well over half the time that I'm able to actually get behind one of the teams for positive reasons. High-profile college ball is almost all heel vs. heel.
