There’s a chain called Joe’s Crab Shack. Back in 2003 or so, I stopped in at one in Sacramento, and was somewhat horrified to discover that they periodically have the waitstaff stop what they’re doing, take center stage, and do a dance routine to Will Smith’s “Wild Wild West.” Song was like five years old at that point, so it was not only awkward and cheesy, but also dated.

Nearly a decade later, in 2012, a friend and I went to another location, this one in Nashville. The staff was still dancing. It was still to “Wild Wild West.” WTF.

I can’t see a Joe’s Crab Shack now without being tempted to go in and see if that **** is still happening ~20 years after the song was released. (I still always resist the temptation since it isn’t actually a good restaurant or anything, but there’s definitely an argument for stopping in just for a beer.)

There hasn't been a post in the whole wrestling forum for four days. Seems sub-optimal. On the bright side, at least we have maybe the single least interesting WWE PPV card I've ever seen being trotted out on the Network tomorrow night.

I know this is the off topic thread, but I went ahead and cancelled the network finally. I watched the rumble ( i think?) and like an hour of mania, and that is basically it as long as i can remember. Really sad, but there is just nothing for me there.

Seeing Miz do his best MVT reality show impression on the TV at the gym is bad enough for wrestling morale

Somebody needs to go to Twitter and beg Dids to come back and bring the power of wrestling positivity. Sure he was wrong about 90% of things, but his writeups were fun and he gave us something to argue about.

For those interested, I'm running a game over in LOLPOG where you guess whether True North knows the answers to a series of questions.

I don't know, there's something sort of catchy there I guess. It grew on me as the song went on.

It wasn't too bad when it 1st released but after being in a constant non stop rotation I'm sick of hearing it.

Saw Kacey Musgraves last weekend in Winnipeg (don't ask). She's great.

A handful of times I used the intro "hey yo" to my boss when employing sarcasm. It always made her laugh, and then she picked it up and started using it frequently (surely unknowing that she had certainly picked it up from me). I finally bothered to tell her today that she has, through secondhand means, picked up a verbal tic courtesy of pro wrestling.

Even better if you walk into a meeting with her and give the Paul Heyman intro, i.e. "Ladies and gentlemen, my name is LKJ, and I am the advocate for the reigning, defending, undisputed VP of this company, ___________!"

Old Town Road is now the record holder of the most weeks at #1 in Billboard history. I don't know if black guys doing quasi-country is going to be a thing now, but this song is now in the top 15.

Cowboy Troy is probably feeling especially disappointed now that his attempt at "hick-hop" (rightfully) fell flat over a decade ago.

Whenever I go from liking something to hating it, I come back later and feel some level of legitimate surprise that everyone didn't share the same revelation as me at the exact same time.

I mean, it appears that there are still millions of people not only tolerating Facebook, but continuing to use it. WTF?

I'm pretty sure that Wally bullied me into keeping my FB account active back in 2014.

I organize 2 ball teams, 2 hockey teams, and 1 soccer team on FB and it's so, so, so much easier than having to call everybody to confirm numbers or changes, or even than sending a text.

If you don't at least have a facebook account to make it easier for other people who need to be in contact with you for events you are participating in to get a hold of you, then you are the one who is being a ****hole here.

When I filter out my now-dull married-with-kids friends from there, I'm left with mostly comedians and world-travelers, so I at least see all their interesting FB events/concerts/shows they're attending/places they're visiting and leech off their fun ideas.

I mean I'm still into social media, I log into Twitter daily because I feel like I have a good follow list and end up getting good news coverage, but Facebook specifically has just become gross to me. My compromise with myself is to just keep Newsfeed Eradicator installed and only log in to see if I have notifications or messages.

My compromise is never logging in on mobile, but I will randomly scroll endlessly once in a while at home on my comp. It's a **** site. I am in various sports groups so I feel kind of stuck there

Man, this news of Andrew Luck retiring really sucks. I have no truck for the Colts even though they play in my back yard, but Luck was really one of the most likable QBs in the NFL.

My competitive streak could never allow me to pull for the Colts on a regular basis because I always want to have a better team than my friends have, but I did not want this.

If any team had to lose a star QB I'm glad it's the colts. Their owner is awful and the fans are as well. They booed luck off the field today after he retired.
